Locator for authorized repair/seller not working why

Tried the Apple find locations a while back and it worked fine - mentioning an authorized center in my area.

Lately - like every time I try the link - most of the items come up red in activity - ssl failure

Tried in in Opera - and it timed out with the message the servers could not be found.

Did a search on ASK.Com and it came up with a few apple hits saying that apple was not accepting any third party services.

So - did they drop authorized 3rd party in favor of their stores?

Looking at their store location list - also - have they closed some stores already?

the locate sub-domain seems dedicated to finding such stuff - it appears a blissful marriage of Apple design and GoogleMaps API. If I were you, I would overlook the inability to hide AppleStore locations... this section is an Apple online success story in my opinion.

I have a "Guy" myself - he is Apple Authorized for both sales and service yet his bizness does not show in the results. I am not sure if that is his choice, so I will alert him (he is kind of an "exclusive boutique" bizness)

with regard to the crow and the road, seems kind of the same to me - unless there is a Berlin Wall or a river with no bridges.

best regards, amigo

Actually last time I had looked them up - it was just a list of non-apple - wish I had printed it to PDF - or if I did - what I called it - putting out a map on less you request it is the latest annoying fad - would rather just have the names and addresses - I can the locations myself.

I did get a better list by refining my question in ASK.com -- apparently authorized Apple repair - just not on apples list.

What does come up with going after Apples version of the list - is a note saying they are not accepting new ones - so apparently really want you to go to their stores.

Depends on where you live - in some areas it the same - in others not -- depends on where you live.

As smaller businesses tend to treat customers well, was just looking for one that possibly helping mac users download the upgrades onto USB or removable drive for a fee

Great idea; if you find one, just make sure they download it using your Apple ID and password or you may wind up with a few problems - with the new licensing agreements, anything obtained at the app store (OS or app) is tied to the Apple ID used to obtain it and is not transferable.
