"If you don't like it don't use Google Calendar." This isn't a very helpful response. We have shared family calendars, and some family members do not have Apple devices. So we HAVE to use Google Calendar since they can't access (and edit/change) calendar entries on a private iCloud calendar on their devices. If you can tell me how to share with full edit access an iCloud calendar with someone on an Android or other device, then I'd like to know.
Until then, I'm forced to use a Google calendar so other family members (a parent in another household, specifically) can utilize the family calendar. AND we have to deal with the GMT issue now on iOS 8.
If you're having problems with your GOOGLE calendar, you should contact GOOGLE.
And if you want to have a shared iCloud Calendar, editable by everyone, then make a new Apple ID, sign into that Apple ID under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars as an iCloud email, enable Calendar, and then anyone with that Apple ID & Password can add, modify or delete those events, either from an iOS device that uses that email, or from www.icloud.com.
Or, read this article: iCloud: Calendar sharing overview
