This issue subsided for months and returned last week with a vengeance. My phone is almost unusable at this point. I went to the Genius Bar this weekend and, AS I STATED PREVIOUSLY, they could do NOTHING. The rep seemed only slightly aware of the problem, and could offer no resolution other than replacing the phone. He basically said it's a problem with iPhone 6 Plus. He also said they used to replace the screens for this issue, but it wouldn't fix the problem, so they don't do that anymore. My phone is out of warranty, so it would cost me $ to replace it thru Apple. Luckily, I have Total Mobile Protection thru Verizon, so I can get a certified like-new replacement for no cost. That should hold me over until the 7 comes out.

In summary, this seems to be a widely occurring issue (at least with 6+), and there is no fix for it. The issue may come and go from time to time, but when it stops it is only temporary. The ONLY resolution is to replace the phone, and hope the replacement doesn't have the same problem.

Nice edit to your question, AFTER I responded to you. Because people talking about it in forums doesn't count, right? You can discount it all you want. The problem is real, and WIDELY occurring. Your "Level 9" expertise has been very helpful. "Go to Apple and they will fix it." Wow, I would have never thought of that without your guidance.

I am having the same issue. It has been happening for quite some time. I have met with the "Genius Bar" three times. Now my phone is out of warranty so of course nothing else can be done. Others are saying it is a hardware issue and you have to take it to the Genius bar. Per the genius bar techs it is not a hardware issue it is a software issue and it is happening to many iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, and 6s Plus. First time it was under warranty so I received a replacement phone, 4 months later the same thing started happening to the new phone, I took it back to the Genius Bar, and they ran check-ups to make sure it is not the digitizer or a hardware issue. He then wiped my phone clean (more intense then home users restoring it to factory settings) and what he did fixed the phone for 6-7 months, now it is happening again and my warranty ran out (warranty is from the original purchase of the phone and not the replacement phone is what the Genius bar technician is saying); therefore, they can't do anything to help me. My contract is up in 5 months so either I have to deal with it or purchase a new phone at retail cost (which I will guarantee you is not going to be an iPhone). We have 2 other iPhones and they are not having the issue (luckily they have not updated to the newest 9.3 or 9.3.1 or 9.3.2 iOS). No one seems to know why it is happening and while others are insisting it is a hardware issue on this forum take it from someone who seems to be living at the Genius bar the technicians are saying it is NOT a hardware issue.

MY IPHONE 6 PLUS OPENED AN APP AND PLACED A $400 ORDER, AND THE FUNDS HAVE ALREADY BEEN REMOVED FROM MY CHECKING ACCOUNT.

I googled my situation to see if there were any other people who have had the same issue whith theit phone and I can't believe how maNy have similar issues. So I in the last few months My iPhone 6 Plus has been opening apps that I havent visited all day or it calls random people (including business contacts), it texts and/or has almost deleted things from apps to important emails. And just last night my IPhone placed a Purchase from one of my shopping apps for $400 watch, so now I have a watch being shipped to me from RueLaLa. I still don't understand how a locked phone can unlock it self using a pin I created or Touch ID. I'm pretty sure that in order to complete any order using an iphone, it usually would ask for my iTunes password to complete, and/or a shopping site (mine was: RueLaLa) would usually ask to reenter the 3 digits from the back of the card to verify the card and complete the order, and this is in place to protect from fraud or pepole placing orders if a phone is lost or stolen. I contacted Rue La La first thing this morning and emailed to cancel this order and Rue La La is saying that they may not be able to stop the shipment in time, but they will email me a paid return slip so I can send it back and then it will take 5 days to process the return and credit the money back to my bank account, which is now overdrawn because of it. I know this is TMI, but I do have a questions if anyone. I will be deleting all of my saved credit cards and any other payment methods, in order to prevent any other issues. I actually have had similar things happen previously but it never actually finalized the order or reservation, for eg; I've also had situation where I'll unlock my phone or pick it up and discover that one my travel or hotel apps, would be at a final booking page and all it would need is one more click to complete a hotel reservation.

So my inquiry is; does this situation qualify for a new iPhone from Apple? My provider is ATT but I don't think they are responsible for what has occurred.

To anyone that reads this, please don't save your credit or debit cards to prevent this.

I have also has this problem intermittantly and it really does seem like the phone is being operated remotely. The way the apps are opened and closed, it appears someone is searching for something. I tried closing apps that the phone has opened without my help. The phone usually re-opens the same app. It really becomes a battle of the wills when the phone opens my online banking app. No matter how many times I close that one, it is reopened immediately and scrolling begins. I have to power off my phone to make that stop. I think I am going to delete all but the bare essential apps and turn off icloud and see if that helps.
