my iPhone 6 is typing and opening apps by itself

I have the same problem, my phone would type random things and open apps that I never met to open, I'' trying to find a source to help get thought this problem, if u have something that cal help me that would be aw

There's nothing that can be done to correct it. It appears to be a problem with the chip. Google "touch disease" and there's a load of related sites explaining why it can't be corrected. Apparently, Apple haven't yet admitted there is a problem.

I fixed this issue by powering off the phone and using a pin to clean the dust out of the charge port and headphone port.

I also reset, restored, wiped out all data and reset to factory setting and still having the same issue

I don't know about anyone else, but my problem started soon after the 10.1.1 upgrade.

I am with Consumer Cellular, and an unlocked GSM iPhone 6 experiencing the same after IOS 10.1.1 upgrade. Problems are random. Apps switching around opening and closing, messages being typed on their own, phone freezes up completely, can't swipe the off slider. Pressing home/sleep fixes the problem for a while. I re-installed through iTunes on my Mac to no avail. My old iPhone 4 works fine, but has my SIM slot (old Verizon). I am frustrated, and want Apple to provide a cure. They screwed us up this time, and they need to confess!

Done the iTunes restore - no, the problem came back within a few days. My phone is less than 2 years old. I have an old iPhone4 that still works! Apple gave us a bug, I suspect, with IOS 10.1.1...

This is terrible if they can't fix this bug or whatever it is. I brought mine into AT&T after the same problem and they gave me a replacement. A day later, the same thing happened as before with the "phantom finger."

For as much money as we spend on these phones, they should be able to fix this.

This also took forever to type as the finger tried to talk dirty to you all...

I deleted Facebook and associated Messenger and the problem seems to have gone away.
