Can I go back to an older OS?

I upgraded to Yosemite in the early autumn. My 2011 iMac has always had a tendency to crash (programs or whole computer) but that increased after installing Yosemite. I never upgraded to Mavericks though. I think I was using Snow Leopard before.

iMac, iOS 7.0.4

As posted before, there are a couple of places to look for these stuff.

The user level can be found here:

Open Finder

Press and hold Alt and in the Go dropdown menu select Library. You are now in the User (Your logon) Library. Navigate in the Finder to LaunchAgents and thereafter LaunchDaemons and find the other offending files.

Understand the different locations. This is the User level, your level. There wil be one for each user where they have installed stuf. But that is not at present your concern. We will deal with that when we get there.

The others pointed out in previous posts were the Library location and the System location, OK?

It is confusing trying to get help in a forum.

I wish the tech person in the Apple Store had been more willing to look into this kind of stuff instead of just running a couple of tests and saying, "I can't find anything wrong with your computer."

And I have to say, regardless of whether Leopardus is wrong or right, he is kind and trying to help. Csound has been snarky and really not very helpful.

Lex I appreciated your help.

I'm thinking I might need to go back in to the Apple store and insist they delve further into this than the lady did the first time. I would have gone sooner, but the nearest store is far away and I have kids and other things keeping me busy.

The Apple store is not the right place I think, when there is nothing wrong with your computer: it is the mess that you are in now. It is really easy to solve, but you are operating above your level (no critics, but reality). In one of my first posts I made a list what should be made to go off the mac. And I can explain how to in 5 minutes, to somebody who understands the instructions and has a bit of experience with installing, uninstalling and removing items with the Finder.

So in your case you are now worse than when you started. No offense meant. See it from the metalevel, as a project you have to manage without knowing much about the technical details. Discipline is needed.

Michele, I do not know where you are, but I am high in the snow covered alps, midnight is nearing.

I will come back tomorrow morning.

About Csound: yes his posts are very condensed/compressed, but he is not blunt. Very helpful, but less patience. I respect him.

It is your responsibility to arrange for enough experience to do what I propose: you have a beautiful mac, it is worth it.

My husband points out that perhaps the Tascam and other things aren't uninstalling completely because I have other accounts -- his and my daughters' -- on my machine.

You are not doing it right, a consequence of looking for a quick way out of the mess.

Decide whether you actually want to fix this, or not. It won't be a pushbutton affair.

Did you actually go and get the 10.9.5 driver from Tascam? or not.
