Maverick installation 2015 ?

Since Maverick installation is no longer available in the App store is there a way to get Maverick?

There is no justification for suspecting it has anything to do with security. Apple has always continued to provide security updates for at least two superseded OS X versions. That includes Mavericks. There is no security flaw, serious or otherwise, that Apple has not or could not address if necessary.

Why else would they not offer the O.S. anymore?

Every Mac that can run Mavericks can run Yosemite, so I surmise Apple has no reason to continue to provide it. That's not the case with earlier OS X versions. Certain models are limited to Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion. All are older than Mavericks, and they're all still available for purchase. Apple continues to support all of them — including Mavericks.

Besides, Mavericks was free whereas the others cost money, and that's even less incentive for Apple to offer it.

Right, Mavericks was free, and Mavericks is STILL available for download, except Apple will only allow those who've already downloaded it previously, to get it! This is really screwed up, it was free, yet those of us who stuck with the OS we were happy with, now can't get it, or even purchase it, just because, period. Seems pretty arbitrary & chintzy, I mean *** does it matter to them if I had it before or didn't? They have it, it was a free update, but they've decided to not allow us to now download it, forcing us to get Yosemite or we're just S.O.L. ... .Thanks Apple....

Well, I see you're the self-appointed forum nit-picking expert, making sure there's an "s" on Mavericks, and giving us such insightful information, as we're not talking to Apple... Although, if you were such an expert in English composition, you'd have realized by what I wrote, that I wasn't speaking to Apple, and that my last line was merely rhetorical... Sounds like you've got way too much time on your hands, cause your presumptuous & condescending comments are not helpful. And of course "nothing is wrong with Yosemite", yet, there's already been three upgrades, and a fourth Beta version of the fourth upgrade has been released.

Oh, and if nothing hear is read by Apple, why would they make this statement: "Apple may provide or recommend responses as a possible solution based on the information provided"... smh.
