why can't i delete music on ios 8?

i have ios 8.1.2 and the option to swipe across the album or song is not available. even going though settings and usage the music app isn't there. is there any easy way to delete my music?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.2

Nothing worked for me either and after sitting at my computer looking up idea after idea from other people that weren't working, I got so fed up I thought about deleting everything off my phone and redoing it. My last and final attempt was to go to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Click on your "Apple ID" and sign out. After I did that, all the old music I couldn't get off my iPhone 6 was gone. I tested the theory and signed back in, all the old music returned again. I don't know why it is the way it is but I'm just happy all the old stuff is gone .😀

If you have songs that you bought on iTunes, and they won't delete off your phone, try this:


To the right of the song or album, there are dots. "Click" on them. Delete song is an option,


Press delete.


Choose whether to remove the download (which takes it off of that device)


or


Remove from My Music. I suspect if you choose this option, and later you want it again, you will have to purchase it again.
