How to Skype with OS X 10.6.8?
OS X 10.6.8 and Skype says I need 10.9.
Do I have to upgrade the O/S?
Suggestions?

try this with skype 6.15 & os 10.6.8:
</array>
<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
<string>6.15.0.335</string>
Replace with:
</array>
<key>CFBundleVersion</key>
<string>7.36.0.507</string>
6. Then go to File and click on Save, or press Command+S
7. Re-open Skype
i found it in another forum, it works.
I am personally happy with switching to whatever IM like ZOOM or ICQ or HANGOUT. The problem is that my friends who are using Skype don’t want to give it up...
They wouldn't have to give up Skype; they could just add ZOOM as another way to communicate sometimes--like when they want you to be included.
This did not work for me until I changed the Skype version number in the plist to the latest version of Skype.

Try 7.58.501 in the plist string. This worked for me in 10.6.8 on my iMac.

Since my last post I tried a Skype video call and it worked fine. I also checked my Skype version in my downloads and it is 6.15.0.335 with the plist string changed to 7.58.501
I tried all of that and none of the contacts are there. They are in the web version, but not the app.
Thanks gallion1 and Apfelmuseins, confirming I was able to sign in today using:
Mac OS: 10.6.8
Skype: 6.15.0.334 (found here: download skype 6.15.0.334 free (mac))
CFBundleVersion: 7.58.501
Thanks Mosflm
this fixed what the previous fix no longer fixed.
A pox on Microsoft!
