Thanks for your tips and input, but I find iMovie '06 HD a much, MUCh better feature rich experience for creating movies than the much later simplified ( read " dumb down" ) current state of later iMovie releases. I like the way older versions of iMovie import and work with the raw video footage than the way current versions handle this. Newer versions of iMovie, also, have less features ( probably to make it easier to go back and forth between iMovie on iDevices and iMovie on OS X) and I really do not like how the more simplified UI and how the newer versions work and function, although I DO use the IOS version of iMovie, on my iPad, from time to time.
AVCHD footage is handled by my Final Cut Express 4. I do not mind having to use two video editors to handle different video formats.
Both of these apps are comprehensive and FCX 4 in some ways already has features that the newer version of Final Cut Pro X took time to eventually get.
I am used to my own workflow and get my video projects done fairly quickly with little downtime.
To each their own,
Thanks, anyways.
Appreciate te your input, though.
Be well...stay well!
