Suddenly getting duplicate characters when entering / editing an event. How do I download a "fresh" version of iCal?

Running OS X Yosemite, latest version. Have used iCal for years. Suddenly, every keystroke is duplicated on the screen. For example, in a new event if I type Meet, I get MMeeeett. Figured I should download a fresh version of iCal. Checked the App Store....no luck. Any idea where I can download a fresh version of iCal?

Thanks

This started happening to me today. At first I thought it was a keyboard issue, but it turns out to be very content dependent for me. It only happens in the event name field. After experimenting a bit, it was triggered by the following line:

rain in spain 10/2

The "2" is doubled. If I type a space after it, then everything else I type in the field is also doubled. Doubling does not affect other apps, but switching back to Calendar it keeps doubling everything in that event name, even if you leave and go back, even if you quit and relaunch.

Further experimentation shows it is triggered by the word "in" or "at", 1 or more words, and then 1-or-2-digits 1-31, "/", then another digit 1-9. The shortest string I found that triggered it is "in x 10/2". There may be other words that trigger it, but I didn't find any. "of", "the", "rain", and "into" do not trigger doubling. I suspect something is examining the string for dates and getting VERY confused. "at" kinda makes sense as a lead word into a date/time, but not sure why "in" is involved. A single digit before the "/" sometimes did not double, but the space after it triggered the doubling again. Sometimes a dash in place of the slash can trigger it.

The order you type the phrase does not matter either. I tried typing rain spain 10/2, which worked, went back and inserted " in", and the "n" in "in" was doubled (it started doubling as soon as the triggering pattern appears in the string.) Whatever it is is examining the string for a pattern after every character typed in the keyboard. if I paste the "n" rather than type it, no doubling occurs on the "n" but it starts doubling if I type another character somewhere.

I am running Mac OS 10.10.2 and Calendar 8 (2032.6.1).
