time capsule device not found

I have a recurring problem backup failed and device not found.

I have been on to apple told pull the plug on time capsule every time.

now i am told to go into network and take it of automatic and set it to 2.4 to channel 11 and the 5 to channel 44.

is this now limiting the time capsule to the 2 channels.

is this the best result for the time capsule or would i be better getting a non apple product.

I am experiencing the same thing. I have a fairly new macbook pro & when in my office i use Ethernet-Lightning for internet. When I leave my office with my mac and start using the time capsules wifi it still works fine. But as soon as I return back to the office and reconnect the ethernet to my Mac, the Time Capsule cannot be found? Internet still works wifi and Ethernet just can't backup on time capsule?

According to apple this is the first time they have herd of this i am the only one

This is what employees are told to say.

There are articles appearing in major industry publications about the bug problems with Yosemite. Apple must not be able to read.

Yosemite is about six months and three or four updates away from being a decent operating system. As it stands, it is the worst operating system that Apple has ever released.....my opinion.

The latest from apple restricting the time capsule was not a fix it was a lets see what happened so using channel 11 and 44 did not work weather did blaming my cordless phone which cost me £50 getting a non cordless phone.

The new reason for my problem is there was to many electrical items beside the tower until i said there was only the tower and my route.

The next answer is there are to many wifi signals where i am. Now where in London are you only going to get your own wifi signal.

So the new solution is we are restricting the time capsule to the 5 GHz range.

now with the restriction to the 5GHz restriction on i am still transmitting in the 2.4 GHz range and the signal strength is stronger and less noise than the 5GHz

Guys, I have a workaround, which is not ideal but will at the very least stabilse AU and allow TM to back up as it should.

FYI, I have the same problem and it is not the TC/TM. It is AU forgetting the network particulars and then TM attempting but failing to backup hourly. I'm also with Apple Tech, trying on a fix... In the meantime try this...

Add Airport Utility to your Login Items (Users & Groups, System Preferences), I ticked hide in the section, you can choose yourself whether you want to or not.

Reboot.

When logged back in, you will notice as part of the startup, AU will open and appear on the Dock, leave it there as a running background process. This keeps the connection live, stable and your TM's should then start up hourly again...

Good luck.

Good good,

Make sure not to close the App during your everyday use... As soon as you do, AU will baulk and the TM's will fail again. Although a reboot will resolve it.

There is a way to hide the Dock Icon for AU, but it involves patching a plist in the AU package... I haven't bothered for fear of buggering my installation. But the option is available if you are brave enough.

In the meantime, if Apple do come up with a fix, which incidentally 10.10.2 does not fix at this point... I'll post on here and the other threads I am involved with, all detailing this troublesome bug!

Thank you for your idea putting the airport utility in start up. It worked for a bit.

Today it happened again twice

Now apple have said try wiping the tower and starting again from fresh ( go out and get a new mass storage device to download your tower first )

or

wait to the new update of Yosemite 10.10.2 will be out soon but not sure when

so far since Yosemite came out its cost me

1 external hard drive kept losing the backups apple said it was the hard drive

2. new router as this is what is causing you to lose backups Apple say

3. new phone with cord as the wireless phone causing problem

how long till apple admit it is Yosemite
