Yup - this has re-surfaced with 10.10.5 (see below). I will re-submit my bug report. Sigh. Feels like poor change control in the release process.

I submitted a bug on this. Apple investigated and responded that it's a duplicate of another bug (21029426). So, they seem to know about this problem. Interestingly, they marked my previous bug report as a duplicate of this new bug, so it seems that they are acknowledging that they somehow re-introduced this bug into 10.10.5.

I don't know how to track the status of a bug that I didn't submit. I've asked (again) for this information. If Apple responds constructively, I'll keep us posted on the progress of the fix.
