A word of caution:

After making a copy of 10.0.7 and upgrading my testbed Mac to 10.1.......

10.0.7 won't start up properly.....

Im guessing it may be something to do with the changes made to the Plugin Manager as that is where things are going belly up during the startup sequence it seems.... or some other change to the configs/prefs that is no longer compatible with 10.0.7 😟

So this will require a roll back using a full backup it seems....if one wants to go back because of bugs found etc...

Got to say.... after a couple of hours with 10.1...

The new real time fades, (No fade files any more.....and it works with Flex Pitched Audio...) the new plugin manager, the 'collapse' view in the piano roll makes using key switches in sample libs real easy... region based automation.... and my personal fav....the new VCA style faders for quickly selecting and mixing down groups of tracks without affecting individual track volume balance levels nor volume automation........ are actually making me consider using LPX over my tried and trusty 9.1.5 setup for the first time....

Never thought I would say that in recent times......

So far performance doesn't seem to be any worse than it was under Mavericks prior to the update (Maybe slightly better but too early to say) and projects using the new 'file less' fade system, certainly load up a lot quicker!

Really? My transport buttons, jog wheel work & Mackie C4 Pro work but that's just about it. No LCD, the faders are down & when I try to raise them they snap back to the down position. I can't work on my boards as of right now.

I'm going to try & import the prefrence file from my MacBook Pro which I hadn't updated yet then import it into my iMac (which received the update) & see if this fixes anything.

FILM COMPOSERS BEWARE :

For now 10.1 is a no way for me…

I've immediately update because of this new "feature":
"When a project is saved with a movie open in full screen mode on a second display, the movie now displays in full screen mode when the project is opened"

I'm working with 3 screens on my Mac Pro 3.1 :
Main display : 30"
An HDMI TV for movie
A 7" usb screen for Digicheck

Before 10.1 when loading a song the movie was closed. I have to double click on it, drag it to my 2nd screen (HDMI TV). And then click on "enter full screen"

So I immediately jumped… BAD IDEA !!!!!

All my songs saved with a movie don't open now (it's 99% of my work User uploaded file ):
black screen or color wheel of death…
from time to time : movie recovering completely my arrange window on my main screen. unable to resize it.
If I close it, my main screen stay black and I have to force quit logic…

I HATE THIS NEW FEATURE !!!!!!!

What is the best way to reverse to X ?

Looks like they've upped the system requirements. No more mountain lion.... mavericks minimum.

The updated specs today now state minimum requirements are 10.9.5 or higher

However, using the 'plist trick' once you have downloaded but not installed LPX on a 10.9.5 Mac... you can then install LPX into Mavericks 10.9.3 or 4.....

But, it seems you can no longer use the same trick with earlier OS X versions such as ML 10.8 as it will install but then LPX crashes upon running...

Guess there is something specific in OS X 10.9.x that LPX now requires as an absolute...

Note: Using LPX 10.1 with a version of OS X below its stated minimum requirements may cause issues and/or instability
