Windows 10 is not supported. It doesn't exist as a real product yet. Contact Microsoft.

This is typical fanboy behavior btw. I to had ur prob, and tilted def doesn't know what he is talking about. Most every other software or devices i use have had drivers updated. Apple has had access to windows 10 for quite awhile now. and as for tilted saying u shouldn't be discussing beta he didn't however he did refer to having it, 2 totally different things. If u dont have any helpful info why comment? Thx cynan.

Try running iTunes in compatibility mode, to do this: right click the iTunes icon on your desktop, click properties, and then visit the 'compatibility' tab in the properties box that pops up, choose to run it as 'windows 8' and restart iTunes to see if it works. Worked for me! iTunes wouldn't even recognise my iPhone 5 and would crash every time, but now it works fine for me until they release a new update 🙂

Following this process

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support

and you are using the latest iTunes version

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

If the issue persists and you have a 64-bit system try the for older video cards version which is a 64-bit installer for mostly 32-bit code, similar to all 64-bit versions of iTunes up to 12.1.

Thank you turingtest2. I have managed to install an older version. (iTunes 12.2.1 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards)). I am hoping it is going to work fully and as good as the newest version would have normally done. Do you know what the difference is between this one ive just downloaded and whatever the latest version of iTunes is??

Hannahbear626 if you still have found a solution click on the link in turingtest2's comment 'iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards)' and download it from there.

thanks again
