Kernel panic

I have a new Mac Pro (black cylinder) and some weeks ago when installing a thunderbolt2 drive I couldn't setup the drive. Then kernel panics occurred. But with a new thunderbolt drive the problem disappeared. However, today again kernel panics all happening after ejecting the drives and shutting them down. Then the black screen with the dreaded warning that the mac was shut down and a panic report.

Yesterday there was an OS X Yosemite update. Could this have caused the problem or is there something seriously wrong with my new mac pro? I fear the last. Anyone experiencing same problem after the OS X update?

I was experiencing this exact problem and solved it by backing up my main hard drive and then using a thumb drive to install an older version of Yosemite (10.10) which I found online. A little bit of a pain since I then had to reinstall all of my programs, but now I'm back to full speed. Hopefully Apple (doesn't seem like this is Lacie's fault at all) fixes this software issue soon, but until then I will not be updating.
