Unable to add missing artwork after upgrading today to iTunes 12.1

I have a Macbook Pro running the latest updates. In fact, just a few minutes ago, I upgraded both the OS and iTunes to the latest versions of everything

(OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2 & iTunes 12.1.0.50). Prior to the updates I have been fixing my missing albums artwork by going on the Net and copy and paste the appropriate artwork to my missing albums without any problems. After the upgrades, I tried to continue fixing my albums to no avail, I no longer have access to add artworks to my missing albums. The grey box with the music sign that represent the artwork that I used to use to paste the photo artwork to is now grayed out and I am no longer able to paste onto that location. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks in advance for your support. Bob

Same Yosemite/ iTunes versions and setup as you (but MBA) and I can add artwork. I typically save the file first, rather than copy and paste, have you tried that? Also, in iTunes 12 it seems that to add artwork you drag it to the header of the Get Info window.

Do your permissions on the iTunes Media folder match this? iTunes Media "Get Info"

No, the staff is "read only". But i can add missing artwork for mp3 files...

I am using the option to keep iTunes folder organized and am still having the issue. But my iTunes library is over 5 external drives.

I have the same issue for a while - using a synology NAS as well; "Keep iTunes Media folder organized"=true.

I raised a call last month and Apple support said that it's a known problem with the communication of iTunes to any storage location.

Apple support promised that it's been solved in the next version, which is 12.1.0.50... so same issue..

I haven't contacted Apple support again but will do soon.

So up to now, there will be no solution I guess.

I do have the "keep organized" checked. I read somewhere and I have also found that if I select two movies and add the artwork it will stay, of course both movies get the same artwork. A pain, but a workaround none the less. I too hate having no cover work on my movies.

Seems as though QC is not as thorough as they once were.

I have had the same problem when uploading music to iTunes I am unable to attach the art work after a few hair pulling moments I went into iTunes and changed music to AAC and when I placed artwork in box it now attaches to song.

Thank you! That worked! The file I was working with was a WAV file -turning it into an AAC worked!
