Why does iTunes 12.1 does not sync new calendar appointments with Outlook 2013?

After updating iTunes to 12.1 64 bit for windows my NEW appointments, contacts and notes are not syncing from Outlook 2013 to my iPhone 5 and iPad Air. Syncing was working fine before I updated to iTunes 12.1. I have disabled all add-ins in Outlook just in case they were the cause of the problem but that hasn't helped either.

iPad Air, Windows 8

Itunes 12.1.1 absolutely "does not" resolve the issue between Itunes and Outlook. The ItunesOutlookAddin is still missing and after being directed by technical support to install it and being provided a guaranty that it would restore all of my calendar events that were lost during a simply sync, backup and update on my iPhone 6 Plus, my calendar events were completely gone. A restore from backup didn't bring them back and after a week to 10 days between phone calls and emails with Apples Sr. technical support they are all still missing. Honestly believe it has to do with the Cloud that they are constantly pushing and Apple having absolutely no idea what they are doing when it comes to performing a simple ITunes Outlook sync. What used to be such an attractive device to use is rapidly becoming simply more and more of a total inconvenience. DONT PUT ANY TRUST IN APPLES TECHNICAL SUPPORT THAT THEY HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO FIX THIS! You would think by now that they would have at least put out an apology for ITunes 12.1.1 "NOT" fixing the Outlook sync problem and released a newer version that at the very least adds back the Outlook Itunew addin!

If you are syncing with iTunes then you are not using 'the cloud'

It may not have fixed your issues as yet, however the release notes state that they have addressed some issues with Outlook in this version.

iTunes 12.1.1

This update addresses an issue that may cause audio playback to stutter, fixes a problem with syncing contacts and calendars from Outlook to iOS devices, and improves compatibility with screen readers.

Try Troubleshooting Sync Services on Windows with Microsoft Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010 - Apple Support. I cannot find a specific reference for different steps to Outlook 2013 but hopefully it is reasonably similar to 2010 in regards to the steps involved.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. (Similar to Apple's article but with some resources for when things go wrong). Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I'm having the same problem -- no sync and no Outlook add-in, including with iTunes 12.1.1.4. Interestingly, if log into Outlook (2010) as an administrator, the sync will complete -- but no data is exchanged (i.e., nothing actually syncs). I uninstalled iTunes with the intention of going back to a previous version, but now the old versions won't install. Any suggestions?

Finally success. After uninstalling all the Apple files (Quicktiime, Bonjour, updater) and folders, was able to install iTunes 12.0.1. Presto -- the iTunes add-iin is back in the outlook add-ins folder. Activate it, and sync with no problem.

What a pain the *** -- another example of fixing something that wasn't broken & screwing the whole thing up. A full day wasted on this.

Thanks to all previous posters for your insight -- great help.

Incidentally, about the same time i upgraded to 12.1.1, i started having trouble with my Outlook 2010 business contact manager (BCM) add-in. I have invested countless hours trying to chase a solution to that, all with no success. Finally got a patchwork solution, but only worked when logged in as an admin.

After i finally fixed the iTunes sync and absence of the iTunes Outlook add-in, my BCM problem seems to have also been solved. Coincidence maybe? Anyone else been having BCM issues since the iTunes upgrade in February 2015?

After my iTunes updated to 12.1.2.27 I lost the ability to sync with Outlook 2013 (Office365) on my Win pc running 8.1 (64bit) and I've read and tried everything here except removal and reinstall of all apple software. I too do not have the "ItunesOutlookAddin" showing up in Outlook. My SOLUTION, which is working so far, was to go to iTunes >Help>Run Diagnostics, plug the iPhone into the USB port and run the diagnostics, even though my iPhone when connected was able to be backed up, allowed access to the phones internal storage, etc. The diagnostics showed that "apple mobile device was not running". I then went to Programs & Features on the PC, selected Apple Mobile Device, selected repair. Restarted the pc and now my Outlook Calendar with all sub calendars appear in iTunes for selection and sync. A run of diagnostics again showed that the Apple Mobile Device was running but not the iTunes helper was not running.. go figure. But my sync works. Perhaps in the iTunes update that file was damaged.

Can anyone tell me how to get the iTunes helper working? and also the Outlook ChangeNotifierConnect addin is running but not enabled in Outlook for some reason. .

Why does iTunes 12.1 does not sync new calendar appointments with Outlook 2013?
