Why does iTunes 12.1 does not sync new calendar appointments with Outlook 2013?

Did anyone else have success upgrading software with this latest release? A little skittish after this last fiasco.

My problem is not solved in the latest release and if you look in Outlook add-ins the Apple com ad-ins are still not listed - I've wasted days on my own and with Apple support - anyone figured out a solution?

I have iTunes 12.1.1 but it still doesn't solve the problem and no add-ins show up in Outlook

It may pay to completely remove iTunes and all supporting components, reboot, and reinstall.

If it still doesn't work then you might find that the iTunes for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards) version works better for you than the full 64-bit release. This is similar to all previous 64-bit releases before iTunes 12.1, being a 64-bit installer for mostly 32-bit components.

Thanks - already went through the whole uninstall on iTunes with the version you mentioned - still gave me trouble. I'm trying to revert to an older version of iTunes and see if I can sync again! Shouldn't the new 12.1 version install those add-ins in Outlook though?

One would think so. My stuff all syncs through an Exchange server so I can't really test these features myself. Take a look at Troubleshooting Sync Services on Windows with Microsoft Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010 if you haven't already done so. Hmm, the title hints that Outlook 2013 might not be fully supported, though I don't know if that is actually the case, or they just haven't updated the title when they should have.

Thanks again - well lo and behold when I went to an older version of iTunes it wouldn't recognize my iPhone 6 on connecting - so I updated to 12.1.1 and the add-ins no longer show up in Outlook 2013 - so it seems the updating removes those add-ins in 12.1.1 - not sure why?

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate and Outlook 2013 and have an iPhone 5s. The last version of iTunes that installed the Outlook add-in was 12.0.1.26. The version released after that, and before the current version 12.1.1.4, not only did not install the Outlook add-in but also removed the ability to sync Outlook contacts and calendars to an iPhone or iPad.

The current version of iTunes, 12.1.1.4, was released to fix the sync issue as well as an issue affecting music playback in iTunes that produced skips and stutters. This version also.does not install an Outlook add-in (at least not in Outlook 2013) but Outlook contacts and calendars DO sync through this version of iTunes, at least for me.

If you cannot sync your phone and Outlook through iTunes 12.1.1.4, perhaps you should install the older version 12.0.1.26. The download is available here: http://filehippo.com/download_itunes_64/58981/

Yeah I may have to go to one of those sites and get an older version of iTunes 11 - just not sure if they are reliable?

FileHippo is probably OK, but I have direct links to several recent versions of iTunes on Apple's servers including the last version of iTunes 11 in the user tip. There are links to some older versions (back to 11.1.4) buried in the version history of the tip if you want me to dig one out for you.

That would be awesome - it seems like with my iPhone 6 I need at least v 11.4 for it to connect to iTunes.

In which case:

• iTunes 11.4.0.18 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-09-09)
• iTunes 11.4.0.18 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-09-09)
