Following the update to 12.1.0.71 I can no longer add movies or tv shows
They won't add. Is there a fix for this coming?

Likewise I fully agree, it should just work. Sadly I think things are a little more complicated, but Apple could do better on making the installation more robust. It would be nice if it could fail gracefully and even suggest an automatic repair or roll back if it detects a problem.

try going into the movies on Itunes and if they are there u need to change them from movies to music videos
Also check the format in which they are in, If its not mp4 format they will not load
The format is not the issue as they have worked for years previous to this mistake of an update, and they work fine on another PC.
All these problems started with a happily functioning system with no issues, until the last update, which managed to totally screw it all up.
I think Apple need to implement a DEV & UAT environment, rather than using us as GuineaPigs.....
Thanks Guys! This fixed me up.
I uninstalled
- All Apple Packages
- Bonjour
- iTunes
- Quick Time packages
Deleted the Apple, iTunes, & Quick Times folders:
- c:\Program Files
- c:\Program Files (x86)
- C:\Program Data
- C:\Users\%profile%\AppData\Local
- C:\Users\%profile%\AppData\LocalLow
- C:\Users\%profile%\AppData\Roaming
Rebooted
Installed the older version of iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe
Installed the newest QuickTime 7.7.6
and Bingo!
Thanks Again!
I have this issue as well but I have a MAC not Windows... Will I still be able to uninstall iTunes?
I don't have access to a Mac right now, but I believe the repair steps are somewhat different. I'd start here:
Troubleshooting iTunes installation on Mac OS X

I am having the same issue. I have followed all of the "fixes" and nothing is working!
Sorry 1 correction on my earlier post. Install iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16) NOT 12.1.0.71!

Hey Guys,
So I think I got it. Don't know why it works, but it did.
NOTE: Make sure you have the original picture stored on your HD before you apply this fix so you don't loose the image and have to go all Google images over everything, annoying.
Let me know if this works, seems simple, but it worked for me when nothing else would, not permissions, versions of iTunes installed, and I didn't have to purchase/download any third party apps.
Step 3:
Click on the "Album Artwork" tab, not the "Get Info" tab, sorry.
Sorry guys wrong discussion. People were having trouble adding album artwork to recently imported files.
same problem I have!
