Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Following the update to 12.1.0.71 I can no longer add movies or tv shows

They won't add. Is there a fix for this coming?

The format is not the issue as they have worked for years previous to this mistake of an update, and they work fine on another PC.

All these problems started with a happily functioning system with no issues, until the last update, which managed to totally screw it all up.

I think Apple need to implement a DEV & UAT environment, rather than using us as GuineaPigs.....

Thanks Guys! This fixed me up.

I uninstalled

- All Apple Packages

- Bonjour

- iTunes

- Quick Time packages

Deleted the Apple, iTunes, & Quick Times folders:

- c:\Program Files

- c:\Program Files (x86)

- C:\Program Data

- C:\Users\%profile%\AppData\Local

- C:\Users\%profile%\AppData\LocalLow

- C:\Users\%profile%\AppData\Roaming

Rebooted

Installed the older version of iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe

Installed the newest QuickTime 7.7.6

and Bingo!

Thanks Again!

Sorry 1 correction on my earlier post. Install iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16) NOT 12.1.0.71!

Hey Guys,

So I think I got it. Don't know why it works, but it did.

  1. Select the movie file you want to add the album artwork to and another movie file that will let you add album artwork (A movie you already had in your movie library and when checked it's "Get Info" individually, the album artwork button under the "Album Artwork" tab is enabled) at the same time (Using the CTRL key).
  2. Right click either one and select "Get Info" (At this point you may get a warning box about editing two items at once depending on your iTunes notification windows preferences, maybe not, but just click OK).
  3. Click on the "Get Info" tab and then click on the "Add Album Artwork" button on the bottom left of the "Get Info" screen to navigate to the windows explorer/finder window.
  4. Select the image you want for the Movie that you couldn't get and add it.
  5. At this point both movies will have the same artwork, so unselect the two by clicking off somewhere in dead space and then left click once on the second movie whose album artwork you changed to get this to work.
  6. Right click and select "Get Info" and navigate to the "Album Artwork" tab and click the "Add Album Artwork" button to add the original image you had for that movie before the fix.

NOTE: Make sure you have the original picture stored on your HD before you apply this fix so you don't loose the image and have to go all Google images over everything, annoying.

Let me know if this works, seems simple, but it worked for me when nothing else would, not permissions, versions of iTunes installed, and I didn't have to purchase/download any third party apps.
