how to add movie artwork to iTunes 12.1.0.50

Hi,

I cannot add movie artwork to the latest version of iTunes 12.1.0.50 on Mac.

The movie was purchased outside of the iTunes platform and is in MP4 format. I can add the movie to the library and adjust the Metadata like director, genre, description, but when i try to add artwork it shows in the Get Info Menu, then when i select Ok, it vanishes.

I've tried the holding Option button as suggested in previous forums but cannot get it to work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

same results (or lack therein) were the norm after updating to iTunes 12, but this solution works for me.

-- select the movie/tv show

-- Get Info

-- select the Artwork tab

-- Paste the artwork from the clipboard (you DID copy an image into the clipboard, right? lol) ...

-- the artwork then appears. done.

Note: NO border or box appears when you first open the Artwork tab, but the Edit menu has the Paste feature active.

Hit Control + Click on greyed out movie

Select “Delete”

Select “Hide Movie”

Do this for each greyed out movie

THEN

On top right of iTunes, click on your account name drop down menu

Select “Account Info”

Enter your iTunes password

Select “View Account”

Scroll down to “Hidden Purchases”

Select “Manage”

Ensure you are on “Movies” page in Hidden Purchases (on top right of Hidden Purchases)

Select “Unhide” for each movie that you have hidden

Return to “My Movies” page in iTunes and verify that each (formerly) greyed out movie artwork has been restored

iTunes 12.4.6.1 Missing Movie Artwork.

Had a similar problem with movie posters that dropped off of the Info area or would not allow me to add the posters when the file was hosted on a NAS.

I just moved all my movies to a NAS from a local connected USB drive. Any new movie that I loaded to the NAS would not allow me to add Movie Posters to the Artwork of the iTunes Info. But, if you move the movie to your desktop then Drag movie into iTunes and add artwork and all the other info it will stick. Then delete out of iTunes and put into your NAS or remote storage and point to new movie file location. Sort of a pain but it works like a champ.
