I had that situation too. Just don't trust it. Mac keeper says fake stuff. What they want is money. That is it. (If you want to get rid of mac keeper meassgaes try Avast mac security for free. No trails)

The virus that you have is the MacKeeper. Tapsnake only affects Android devices. MacKeeper's goal is to "delete unwanted stuff." It's really an app that destroys your hard drive. If you go into Safari and press the bold Safari, then go in Preferences, then click Extensions. You'll probably see VSearch, so turn Extensions off. That got rid of MacKeeper, but it might reinstall in the future..........

VSearch is not part of MacKeeper, it's adware that is one of many that frequently displays MacKeeper ads. If MacKeeper were installed, removing VSearch would not do anything about that.

VSearch also does not ever appear in Safari's extensions, and turning off Safari's extensions won't make any difference in the case of VSearch. It pushes ads through different means, and must be installed by finding all the VSearch-related files and removing them. It's not a trivial task.

Hi, i just got a message that looked like the one posted in Spanish language below (the top message in smaller window). I clicked on it and on the button that said Scan, and watched a progress bar go from left to right. When it got done, i got a window that i will attach a screenshot of to this post. When, i got that window, i googled and got this page and read through these posts. I didn't click anything on that window, it's sitting on my desktop. I did not click on Remove Virus Now.

From reading these posts i'm unsure of how to proceed. I did a Find file for mackeeper and nothing shows (name>contains), there is no application open in my dock called mackeeper or anything else i don't recognize except on MP4 which is in quicktime and the file name is all in numerals.

I am wondering if i can just close this window and go on with my life, or if i have to do any of the recommended procedures.

Thanks for any info
