Very slow loading on apple TV with high speed internet ?

I'm a bit late to the party on this and the hard reboot worked for me. The problem today affected all movies purchased directly through Apple, but I've encountered it before. Generally, it would only affect certain older films while something like the latest Marvel or Disney movie would start up with no trouble at all. I always thought that was very strange.

Had the same problem. Keep doing the reset from settings, but then it comes back after a few shows and I get the wheel of death. I keep forgetting that the menu/down reset is the HARD reset. Also Apple Care told me that the new Apple TV's are like our iPads and iPhones. The apps stay open until you actually "close" them by pressing menu twice and swiping them up. I had about 20 apps open and didn't know it. This stopped iTunes from even getting to my shows. Thanks Apple Care.

I'm same but I'm using Ethernet with a 100Mbs internet connection

All other devices on the network are fine. No problem with Netflix, Stan or even presto. But soon as I go to watch a movie on Apple TV, its slow as ****

Even the Netflix service on Apple TV is slower then the service on my Sony TV.

i have the 4, high-speed internet. hard reset with Siri Remote didn’t work, unplug and plug back in didn’t work.

While I appreciate all the "reboot" advise has there been a formal response from Apple? i really am beginning to regret investing in both the Apple TV 4 and Films on I-Tunes. Netflix streams seamlessly and yet I have to wait and wait for anything in I-Tunes.

Same story with my 4G.

Wifi speed is 30 Mbps.

Same speed with Ethernet.

istumbler/netstumbleer are not available for Apple TV.

Any other network report apps?

Hi. To check other networks, you can use the Apple AirPort Utility app on iPhone or iPad. Be sure to enable WiFi scan in Settings before using. For Android devices, Netgear Genie Analytics is a non-obnoxious app that does the job. Watch for nearby networks on the same channel and try to change yours to avoid them.

I recently had a similar problem with my apple TV with downloads taking over 6 hrs! Resets and restores did not work for me. After much troubleshooting with apple support the cause of my problem was found to be internet boosters I had added to increase wifi reception as my router was some distance away. Once I removed these boosters downloads were only minutes instead of hours! Just thought I would mention this as it may be a solution for other people having similar problems.

I sure do have ATV. 2 in fact. My home network works fantastic with all devices and apps with the exception of iTunes on ATV, iPhone and iPad. It's baffling why iTunes cannot stream movies through those devises. Even in SD format.

Is this occuring at specific times?

Have you verified your connection via speedtest.net ?

Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network)

Same here. 200+ hours to stream a movie I bought months ago. No help from Apple support. Wondering how wide spread it is.

See above. It's not widespread, and issues that arise of this nature will typically be network related.

I been having the same issue and tried to reset my Apple TV and only a few movies and shows will play and the others don't.

Are they showing an error? Buffering? Have you done any troubleshooting?

It says loading and after a while it says movie will play in over 10 hours. I called my internet company and told me everything is ok?
