How do you select multiple photos in iCloud?

In iClud Web you can click one by one or select one daily folder. But if you want to save them all, or by years, here is the efficient way...

It took me 2 hours to find the solution!😠 After that it become obvious that Apple support intentionally missing (hiding) this information from all helps and support sites. Helps are always about one direction, that you can upload, you can run out of space, you can pay regularly. No way to get back your (or your daughter's) personal data. Maybe for 30 days streaming, but not all of your saved ones. (This is my personal opinion: Shame on the inventor of this tricky cross selling idea! Unfortunately Jobs has passed away Apple is on its way down.)

But here is the solution:

1. You have to install iCloud for Windows. (Maybe restart your machine to make background services up and running. Without restart it did not work for me.)

2. Open iCloud. Select Download Library... button on bottom left and select ALL or the folders by years.

3. And thats all. Be patient as the synchronization is slow, takes time for large folders. You can find the pictures in your Download folder set (default is my Pictures\iCloud Photos\Downloads)

(4. You can consider to turn of iCloud Photos upload feature.)

Can dropbox be set up as the default photo handler on Apple devices? If so can you say how?

If not - I'm not sure how that would help, since thats the whole point - the ability to fetch / handle iOS-taken photos in bulk.

Windows PC users: To select multiple individual photos, hold ALT.

Weird button choice, but it works. I haven't found an alternative for SHIFT to select multiple photos with one click.

@Apple -- Why not use SHIFT for a selection series or CTRL for non-contiguous individual selections? This is already a universal standard. Please fix this.

It used to be possible three years ago, until an update to iCloud Photo Library killed this feature.

It turns out, this is a feature and not a bug, as we have been hoping.

I know this questions is old and there have probably been several updates to iOS and iCloud, but I wasn't able to even "Ctrl + select much less select all. So I just found out I need to hold Ctrl + Alt in order to select multiple pictures at a time. I still haven't found out how to select all or a range of pictures like you would with shift + select, but I did find the other option someone was talking about which is to select an entire group like a specific day with the little + sign that shows up in the right corner of the group of pictures, when you select a picture on that day or group. This works when you are in photos not all photos. Photos in iCloud on your PC browser is like "collections" on your iPhone. Hope this helps someone, because I'm always searching for help and appreciate when I find an answer.

It is always good to post a solution to a discussion, if it is not obvious, which of the many replies are a solution. Only the original poster can mark a discussion as solved. In Safari on Mac it is still no longer possible to select a range of 100 photos or so by holding down some key and clicking the first and the last photo of the selection. Previously (before February 2015) we could hold down the shift key to select a range of photos with two clicks for downloading. I still see no replacement for the select button and the Shift key to select a range, that vanished in 2015 from www.icloud.com in Safari.

Why have an iphoney in the first place if it can't be used as intended? Nor is it user friendly any longer since the easiest process have become over complicated.

To select multiple files or folders that are listed together, click the first item you want to select, hold down the Shift key, then click the last item.

still no solution tho...please fix this sh*t quick..there are obviously a sh*tload of ppl frustrated by this..not enough to impact the stock price i guess.

This only allows you to select multiple individual photos (i.e. one at a time) and not mass select a larger group of photos.

This works but you still have to click "Save" as many times as the number of photos selected! It should not be this difficult to download your pictures! 😠

this can be fixed by going into safari preferences, general tab, and changing file download location

You've simply stated to change preferences of where to send your files. You still have to select individual images, though thanks for the input!
