Hello, looks like 10.1.1 brought some unwanted side-effects. All Kontakt AU plugin interfaces are having severe UI issues. The Kontakt libraries are working just fine under Kontakt 5 standalone player and also as AU plugins in Reaper, but not in Logic Pro X. I tried reinstalling one library, but it did not help.
Example from Action Strings:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)
In OS X's System prefs under Energy Saving, do you have an Automatic Graphics Switching option?
If you do.....
If it is checked, uncheck it..... and vice-versa...
Now test and see if that makes any difference...
Hello, no I don't have. I think it is only available for dual adapter models. I tried disabling the 'dim slightly...' option but did not have any effect on my problem.
That's quite possible.. I wasn't sure if the single adaptor models still had that option to save power when on battery by switching off certain features...
What is your exact MBP model/year?

Yes I have read about the repair program, my MBP is "unfortunately" not in those listed. But this might be some hardware issue also. Strange that I never saw this with previous Logic Pro X versions (used two previous versions), but I just can't remember whether I was always on AC power when accessing my Kontakt libraries (back then I had only one which did not need so much 'attention')
Umm.. well it's obviously something that is connected (On battery you get the problem and on AC you don't..)
What's odd is you reported it only happens in Logic and not with other DAWs that use AUs which is somewhat perplexing..... as that makes little sense.
Are you sure you were using/testing the AU version and not the Mac VST version with Reaper? (As Reaper can use both I believe..)
Anyhow...
In theory, if it is a hardware related issue then it should happen when K5 is used with any DAW
If it's a software issue however, then I can understand why it may not occur when K5 is used in standalone mode as then K5 using different graphic routines i believe but as you stated it only happens with Logic and not other DAWs like with Reaper (if you tested it using the same AU version that is) then that's the bit that is throwing me a little.... unless of course Reaper itself is using different Graphic routines.... to display Kontakt's interface.
Yes I'm sure it was AU with Reaper. For the record I just tried with VST in Reaper without AC power, but it still works just fine. Also I found out that the '15 second rule' also applies to the 'press space to play' workaround; after 15 seconds of working UI it changes to non working UI.
It could be that since LPX and GarageBand are Apple products, they might use some undocumented features of the graphics adapter and that causes the differences between other products. Or just that they are using / refreshing the UI a bit differently even with documented API calls.
The same problem also with El Capitan 10.11.1 and LPX 10.2
