Major security flaw!!! Listen to Voicemail from Lock Screen??

Is anyone aware of this?? From the lockscreen, with iOS 8, even if you have a passcode, someone can pick up your phone and say to Siri "Listen to voicemail" and it will play voicemails on the speaker! This seems like a HUGE oversight. In iOS 7 at least, it would then ask for you to unlock your phone before playing it. But now it does not. Of course this can be turned off by denying access to Siri from the lockscreen all together, but that eliminates a lot of other things too that are convenient. What's funny is that I can listen to my voicemails without a password, but if I want to launch Pandora from the lock screen using Siri, it requires an unlock. Seriously??? How has Apple not addressed this yet?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3, null

Once again, I am reminded that posting topics such as this to forums such as this is a complete waste of time. It only invites the irrelevant opinions of other people who feel compelled to contribute to the conversation, even though it provides no value.

This is a technical assistance site for use by volunteers. Not a discussion site. Your post is well outside the intent of this site. You chose to argue with people who have no influence whatsoever over Apple products. Brilliant.

It was to inform people of a security flaw and see if anyone had a fix I was missing.

Major security flaw!!!

It is not a "Major security flaw!!".

It is not even a security flaw.

It is a feature of this current release.

And you can choose to disable that feature.

The only other thing you can do is to make the suggestion - as has been suggested to you earlier - to Apple that any new release of iOS you can disable some/all apps of your choice that Siri can open from the locked screen : that is, to open or not open your voice mail.

PS. Most people are informed. I do not consider it a security flaw. I think of it as a great feature. That's why I bought the phone. And I keep my phone by me at all times - except when I take a shower.

PPS You're a good sport even if you are not a secret agent. 😎

You can only make suggestions to Apple. We are all users as you are.
