Hdmi cable that works with Mac mini 2012

I'm having problems getting a good HDMI image with the Mac mini late 2012 using an adapter or a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable. I'd like to get an HDMI to HDMI cable that works. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Rather, I'm going to try the HDMI cable from the TV, which I know is good, with another monitor.
