iOS 8.2 apps are crashing iPhone 6

Just downloaded iOS 8.2. rebooted the phone after installing and apps are crashing again.

Just beware if you are using iPhone 6 (I have a 128GB version) this update may not be 100% stable.

If you don't need to upgrade yet I would consider not bothering or at least wait a few days.

Considering rebuilding the entire phone again just to rule out that but to be honest after doing so several times since 8.1.2 I'm kinda getting fed up.

Same issue for me. I have an iPhone 6 64GB model. Ever since I upgraded to 8.2 the touch ID stopped working and the phone constantly crashed to the point I had to do a hard reset to get it back up or plug it in.

After reviewing the crash logs it seemed to have something to do with the LinkedIn notification center. Once I disabled Linked in from Notification center the crashing stopped, so now my only issue is with the touch ID. I'm hoping for a quick fix for now as I don't want to roll back quite yet and can deal without touch ID for a bit, although that makes Apple Pay useless for now.... This seems to be a pretty serious bug for what should have been a stable release....

I have an iPhone 6 128 GB and have been having the same kind of problems since updating to iOS 8.2. Apps take forever to open, they crash right after opening, or they freeze up and the screen and buttons do not respond.

It's sporadic but seems to be worse when I'm on LTE (though WiFi with the iPhone 6 has been flaky, too). It's usually with non-Apple apps, though even Safari freezes up sometimes. The apps affected are usually apps that access the internet a lot. The entire phone can become locked up for 30 or 40 seconds, so that I just have to wait until it sorts itself out.

Has anyone had any luck solving these problems with a restore? I would like to avoid doing it if possible, especially if it doesn't solve the problem.

Thanks for your reply.

I've been wondering if my phone's issues could be hardware-related. I'm pretty sure Apple will make me do a restore before they'll do any kind of a swap, though. I'll have to call support and find out what they want me to do to troubleshoot.

Thanks again for your information. I was going to wait it out until the next iOS release, but based on your experience, that's probably not a good idea.

i've resorted now to sticking all the apps that are crashing into a folder on the home screen. Facebook messenger got updated and now works. Facebook itself still crashes after yesterday's updare so that's staying where it is.

who knows whether it's iOS or the apps themselves.

Past caring to be honest

That happened to two of mine. It's not a software fault that is a hardware fault and is a recognised problem by Apple. You should return the phone to them either by visiting an Apple store or requesting a replacement through the service option on the website. Unfortunately it will just get worse. If you can back it up do so now to your computer through iTunes. After a while it will become impossible to access the phone And it will eventually "brick". If you can save your data now do it. Good luck

Apple replaced my iPhone 6 last week and so far the new one is a lot better. The diagnostics they did indicated a hardware failure with the old phone so they did not make me do a restore before replacing the phone. WiFi can still be flaky (very slow speeds, even though my iPad and Mac are getting are getting high speeds on the same network) but toggling WiFi on/off usually takes care of that.
