App Store seems to be having a nightmare and the U K support page is also not good, any ideas what to do as I need an update for an app that I can't download

The server gave an error during download: 503 Service Unavailable. Getting this message as well. Australia.
Same error in Belgium since yesterday. Valid for Mac App Store AND iTunes App Store ...

Here in California all seems to be working again.
i fix it by doing this

restart mac and it fix

You just have to logout and re-login in App Store.
After I logged back in, the two apps that were reporting as needing an update were already updated. Hmm...
