macbook white 2,1 battery replacement

2.5 yr old Macbook Pro died today. logic board burnt, hard drive wiped cleaned. Dug the macbook white 2007 out of storage.

Battery type is ASMB013

packlot code 0001

firmware ver 0102

hardware rev 0300

over 1000 cycles and does not hold charge. Is the A1185 okay as replacement?

What about battery smc firmware update. 1.4? 1.5? This macbook is running 10.6.8

read here about those who buy new battery and when turned off battery drains. Maybe b/c wrong firmware?
