Version 10 for the Flash Player is way behind. Despite the message from Poptropica, it may be OS X that is blocking your access because your installed version of Flash is so old. The current version is 17.0.0.134.

Download the latest Flash Player directly from Adobe by clicking here. Click the big Install Now button. The file will go to the Downloads folder of your user account. Click the arrow at the upper right of Safari. You'll see this:

Click the magnifying glass and Safari will open the Downloads folder for you. Double click the .dmg file. It will automatically open this window on your desktop:

Quit Safari (it needs to be closed to update Flash). Double click the Install Adobe Flash Player icon to initiate the installer. Depending on how you have GateKeeper set, you may see this message:

Click Open. The installer will then run and install the latest Flash Player. When it's done, confirm by opening the System Preferences and clicking on the Flash Player icon in the bottom row. Click on the Updates tab. It should look like this:

Done. The game should work. I tried it out just before putting this post together and it was working just fine.

If the false update alert actually refers to the name of the game you're trying to play, then I doubt very much that it's caused by malware or a compromised router. It's just a defective website.

It's not for me to tell you how you should spend your leisure time, but honestly, if you want to play games, you can do a lot better than what's on the "webkinz" site. There are thousands of games in the Mac App Store, for example, and I would imagine that even the worst of them is better than the content of that site.

More importantly, Flash is not entirely trustworthy. Every couple of months, it seems, a new security exploit in it is discovered, and Apple blocks all old versions of Flash, forcing everyone to update. This has happened many times, and it shows no sign of coming to an end. That means that even when Flash is up to date, there's a chance that it may have an as yet unknown vulnerability that someone could take advantage of. Playing Flash games exposes you to the highest risk. I strongly suggest that you avoid using Flash content unless it's really necessary.

When you reply to your own post, we can't tell who you are responding to. Also, you provide no context to what you are responding to.

That at would help us greatly if you could reply either with a quote, or in full sentences.

Did you follow Kurt's post exactly? You had a further reply that it says no updates available. Kurt never suggested you "check for updates" anywhere. He dI'd post the settings page for getting Flash updates automatically.

Wwhen you click on Kurt's link, does the address bar say, "https://get.adobe.com"?

or, is there something similar and has another address altogether or something between adobe and .com. Adobe should be by itself between two periods.
