She noted it says the Adobe Flash Player is up to date, but a version that old doesn't look for newer versions. It thinks it's up to date as far as version 10 goes. The free Acrobat Reader will do the same thing. You could have the latest version 10 of that app on your computer, and it won't tell you there's a version 11. It just tells you version 10 is up to date.

Follow the outline I posted above to get version 17 on your Mac.

Go to this website... https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html

It will tell you the Flash Player information on your machine. Ignore whatever version it says you have, you're going to uninstall Flash from your machine.

Use this app to do so... uninstall_flash_player_osx.dmg

Once you have removed Flash, restart your machine.

Next, visit this page... https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

Click on the Check Now button. It should not find any version of Flash installed.

Next, click on the link in step 2 right below this button... download and install the Flash player.

Return to this page... https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

It should now say 17.0.0.134 is installed.

You are done.

If you visit a site and it tells you your Flash is out of date or the Flash doesn't run, it is the site that is broken, not your computer.

P.S. This is essentially the same thing that Kurt recommended, only in my instructions, you're uninstalling Flash first.

Kurt and others please keep in mind you never know who you are speaking to. I suggested to my daughter she ask the question on this forum because I couldnt help her. The condesecending arrogance in some replies can hurt those of us who may not be as astute as you are. I'm sorry I suggested this forum. To those who were patient and kind - thank you.

Arrogant? I have kindly said please follow xxx instructions a couple of times. The only response we continually get is "does anyone know what I should do". Well, it's pretty difficult to help someone who pretty obviously isn't even attempting to follow the fully detailed instructions. If she had, we'd be done.

If she has followed and completed installing the latest verison of Flash, we'd never know it from her responses. There's only so much anyone can do without standing in the same room, and getting almost no information here from the person you're trying to help.

So, once again, have you followed the instructions for installing Flash verion 17? If so, did it work?

Details matter. We can't see what you're doing and we can't read your mind. She did say "i try it didn't work", but even though two people asked that she not reply to herself, she continues to do it. Who was she responding to? Me? pmiles? There's no way to know what didn't work. Click reply on the post of the person you're responding to so the response makes sense.
