iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 8.2) Displaying Wrongs Artist Names

Hello Readers,

I hope this somehow makes it's way to someone at Apple or anyone who may be able to help me:
A few days ago, I updated to iOS 8.2 on my iPhone 6 Plus (128 GB/Sprint). Then I noticed that the artist names were incorrect. First I thought maybe it was a glitch, so I restored my iPhone from my backup, but it was exactly the same. So then I checked iTunes on my Mac and everything was correct, then lastly I checked my iPod Touch which syncs with the same Mac and the same music and everything there was correct.
I cannot seem to figure out what's going on, because it all started when I updated to iOS 8.2, and it's very annoying because it's on some songs.

Some of songs that I noticed that are incorrect are Michael Jackson's "Love Never Felt So Good (Duet With Justin Timberlake)", when I play that song it says "Michael Jackson Feat. Akon" on the artist info, but that is not how I have it on my Mac or how it appears on my iPod Touch.

I purchased Michael Jackson's Xscape album both as CD and from the iTunes Store and both versions display the wrong artist info for "Love Never Felt So Good (Duet With Justin Timberlake)".
Here are some screen shots so you can see what I'm talking about:User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

If you know how to fix this, please help me and other iOS 8.2 users who are going through this.
THANK YOU,
Luis

Hey there,

Trust me the Genius Bar won't help at all. It's not your iPhone/iPad/iPod, it's iOS 8.2. All my friends are having the same exact issue and one even got his iPhone 6 replaced with a refurbished one at the Apple Store in 5th Ave, NY and when he synced the music back it was the same. He didn't even restore from backup, he started the phone as new and the names are all different than they're suppose to be.
But I would like to know what did they tell you at the Apple Store and if you fixed it?

Thanks,
Luis

What's Genius Bar??

I'll let you know. I see the apple tech tomorrow. But I downloaded 8.2 at least 3 weeks ago. Whenever I see that red 1 next to App Store I right away upgrade to whatever iOS version is. So I did delete my entire music list on my iPhone, and did that factory settings as if I just bought the phone, then synced to my computer. I only have 239 songs, and now only 9 of them have weird issues. For instance Pitbull & Ne-Yo-Time of Our Lives, shows up on my iPhone as Pitbull only. I would think whatever the person sees on iTunes store, that the iPhone will also match! It's annoying! Maybe 8.3 will fix it? But what about deleting alarms? Because I did the reset factory settings, all my alarms were deleted, but still an alarm went off! Well how can any alarm go off if NOTHING is on there? Then also when I want to skip a song, that song will freeze for few seconds, then finally skip to next song. I just want to make sure also if I have virus on phone. Is it possible to get a virus on a iPhone?? I can upgrade to 6, but I don't like 6 since I think its way too big! I like iPhone5C and my cover 🙂

Dude I have the same problem.

I love enjoying music on my iPhone but I found a problem a couple days ago. The problem is the Artist Name on my iPhone does not match with Artist Name on my iTunes library. For example I downloaded a song "FourFiveSecond" by "Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney". So when I play that song on my iPhone, the Artist Name should be "Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney", but it was "Rihanna & Nicki Minaj". I have checked song's info on my iTunes Library and it's true that the Artist Name was "Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney". I also have a song on my iTunes Library called "Fly" by "Nicki Minaj & Rihanna". When I played all song by "Rihanna" on my iPhone, it should be "Rihanna" only on the music player, but it always "Rihanna and Nicki Minaj" on all "Rihanna's" song

The same problem also happen on my song called "Cheek to Cheek" by "Tony Bennet and Lady Gaga", my entirely song by "Lady Gaga" change up with "Lady Gaga and Tony Bennet". I do not know this is a bug or something, but I like things organised and show as it should be.

I hope someone understand my problem, I also attached the screenshot below:

Yup, it a iOS 8.2 bug because it happened on my devices running iOS 8.2 (iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 Plus). I do realize this problem since I ask Siri to play the song, I said "Siri, Play song by Rihanna" then Siri play that song do I directly move to music player then I saw the artist like..what? Since when Rihanna and Nicki Minaj sing FourFiveSeconds. Seriously, Apple needs to fix this really soon.

I did go to the Apple store earlier today but the tech also said there are no issues. Whatever! Obviously there are issues with this artist name changing for no reason. Well I went through my playlist, and wrote down all of the problem songs. Now I got the 9 songs that had issues, down to 6. Apparently two of the songs on the iTunes store changed artists name. Blanco which is the Fast and Furious soundtrack, now says Pitbull. Before it said Pitbull& Pharrell.

So maybe the 8.2.1 or whatever next iOS update will be, maybe will fix this artist name changing issue.

It is definitely a problem with IOS 8.2. I have "George Straight" as the artist in my iTunes library. It is showing up on my phone as "George Straight And Dean Dillon". Who the heck is Dean Dillon?????????

IOS 8.2 fixed some bugs but my iPhone 6 drains battery much faster now. Hopefully they fix the battery drain issue and music issue in the next release.

What I would really like is a way to choose how to sort the albums. By year ascending, descending or sort by album title would be great. This way when I have a disc 1 and disc 2 of greatest hits that have different years on each song, I won't have to listen to disc 2 first and disc 1 last. All of this stuff makes sense and I can't believe someone at Apple doesn't have a brain to come up with such a simple idea! There are plenty of third party apps that sort albums by title alphabetically but I would rather use the Apple music app.

Well there are several songs on iTunes that the featuring artist gets no credit for. For instance Drop It On Me on Ricky Martin's Life album, should say featuring Daddy Yankee, but it doesn't.

Another song, Conteo, on Don Omar's King of Kings album, doesn't include the featured artist Juelz Santana
