Pages not Syncing between iCloud and MacBook

Before Yosemite and iOS 8 it was perfectly able the synchronization among my Macbook Pro, iPhone and iPad related to iWork products. Now this is not such. I can not work in a fiable manner neither Pages, Numbers nor Keynote in my laptop because the synchronization takes not less than 24 hour, if I have enough luck, with iCloud and then with my devices. I can't work this apps in my laptop because I'am going in and out of my office an I can't wait for synchronization before I can go out with confidence that my files synchronized and I can continue my work anywhere.

Now I'm working directly on iCloud.com and of course, I can't use all functionality of my Pages/Notes/Kaynote's laptop.

Last year I turn out from Windows world to Mac with all my devices because I was confident that apple is the best of the best on fiability and quality, so this is annoying just for say it in an easy way. Is a great disappoint.

Does anybody know what the **** is going on?

I have this problem too. Until one month ago or so, syncing was excellent. The last month the iWork-products sync not, delayed or slow. Other apps sync stil well. Very annoying. I hope this problem is solved very quickly. The only solution is the old fashiond way: working on one device only. Anyway, the slogan 'it just works' is history.

Yes, it seems to be that. Bottom line: Macbook - iCloud syncing is intermittent. I want to remark that this is a problem not just with pages but with numbers. Keynote I aven't try for now. So, I'm not working with this apps in my Macbook. I use web based versions in iCloud directly or in my iPad, unless I need a very specific function not present in iPad nor web.

Everything is working fine no after some 'cleaning'. if you have a problem, than delete the not-syncing-files. First copy the complete content of that file to a New blank file and so not losing the content. Then shut down the app. Restant the app.

Probably your problem is solved too.

and don't worry, hiccups like this are far less common them a few years ago, when I was working with Microsoft devices.

It's now June 27. I work between two 27" iMacs and a 13" MacBook Air all day, every day. The reality is, sometimes iCloud Drive syncs my documents almost instantly, and sometimes it can take up to a day and a half. For someone going back and forth between computers, it's a considerable inconvenience. Often I end up going into iCloud, to the drive, and replacing the one on my Mac. But it's a pain and needs fixing.

I was having trouble syncing Pages docs created on iOS devices. I would open the same doc and it would remain the old version. This morning, I shut down Pages on the Macbook, restarted it, and in the finder window, there was a little cloud next to the name of the doc. I clicked that, got a status bar where the file size usually is, after a few seconds, the doc updated and I'm where I need to be. I should add that I am not certain that closing the app and clicking the cloud had a causal effect. I'm just telling you what I did in case it did.

I JUST bought Pages for $20 for my Mac, thinking that synching with my iPhone/iPad would be a non-issue. Unfortunately, it is an issue. I've been using Pages for writing my articles for a newspaper and need the versatility of having it synced on all my devices. Everything I've read has no solution as of yet.

My mail app on my Mac STILL holds sent messages in the outbox and I ALWAYS have to force quit the app. Sorry for the rant. I'm just incredibly frustrated.

I upgraded to Yosemite and discovered that it was unstable, and much of my music production software was no longer compatible, so I decided to go back to Mavericks, but somehow in that process, I was automatically "upgraded" to iCloud Drive :~/ When I went back to Mavericks, Pages no longer syncs across my devices, because iCloud Drive is not compatible with Mavericks. And to put the cherry on top, once you have upgraded to iCloud drive, there is no going back, which means as long as I continue to use Mavericks, there is no way that Pages will ever sync again. Given the lack of compatibility + instability of Yosemite, I don't plan on "upgrading" my OS any time soon.

This lack of care on Apple's part is unacceptable. I stopped using pages.

Solution: Switched over to Microsoft One Drive, which keeps my MS Word docs in sync across devices. Problem solved. And while I liked pages, MS Word is ultimately better.
