How to print in black and white from Microsoft Word?

So I'm out of cyan toner, and my printer is capable of printing in black and white. However, for the life of me I cannot figure out how to send a black and white print command from Word for Mac. I've tried looking for the option, but I can't find anything in the print command window. I'm currently running Yosemite. I've even tried printing from Preview, but the option isn't available there either.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Go to System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners. Click on the + button to add a new printer. Select "Add Printer or Scanner..."

Be sure the Default tab is selected. You should see your Xerox printer inside the box as Bonjour type.

If so, the Name, Location and Use boxes are pre populated. You must concentrate on the box Use. If it does not report Xerox WorkCentre 6605N, click on the drop down menu and click on Select Software...

Inside the Filter box at the top right corner, type 6605. If you previously installed the latest Xerox driver I told you in one of my post, you should see your model printer appearing along with 6605DN. Select 6605N then click OK, then Add button.

Oops. I realized just now that your Xerox printer is the WorkCentre 6505 and not the 6605. Sorry. The correct driver is the following

Anyway, after you installed the correct driver, the procedure I gave you in my last post still applies.

I installed the correct driver, and reinstalled the printer as per your instructions. Interestingly enough, when I downloaded and installed the driver this time, the process was different. My computer didn't even search for the printer, and the MacBook gave me a warning that I was installing something from an unidentified developer even though I didn't get that warning with the other driver. Anyway, after doing all that, I finally see a Black and White option!User uploaded file

This is what it looks like if I go to Printers and Scanners under System Preferences now: (I deleted the other two printers I had before)

..However when I tried to print I got this:

User uploaded file

Is this an unrelated issue?

You received the warning because the driver is not digitally signed. Older Xerox printer installer has a different setup process so, what you experienced is normal.

You mean the "Unable to get printer status"?

It may be related to the SNMP protocol.

Does the printer print?
