My macbook pro is running really slow.

My computers been ridiculously slow lately. I've been wanting to update to Yosemite, but I've heard about some people having worse performance after updating, so I haven't. Any tips would be really appreciated!
Here's my Etrecheck report:

Looks like I'm the first one here so I'll give it a quick shot. Lex and perhaps others will be dropping by later.

4GB RAM is sufficient for Mavericks, but you'll be happier if you add more.

You have a small amount of adware so just click on [Adware! - Remove] and follow the directions.

Many of your Internet Plug-Ins are way out of date, some are security risks and Apple should have disabled Flash Player for that reason. Update or remove Silverlight and read Why You Should Ditch Adobe Shockwave.

Java is out-of-date, a security risk and should have been disabled by Apple.

There is no reason for you ever to disable Gatekeeper. If you run across some software you trust that is being blocked by it, all you need to do is right-click on it and select "Open" from the contextual menu. Go to System Preferences->Security & Privacy->General tab and change "Allow apps downloaded from: " to at least "Mac App Store and identified developers. Unlock the padlock with your admin password, if necessary. Hopefully that will keep you from installing malware and adware in the future.

It would appear that LastPass is improperly installed since it failed to load it's Helper's LaunchAgent. Make sure you have the latest version and re-install.

Steamclean causes issues for many users.

DivX causes issues for many users.

Time Machine is disabled, so I hope you have an alternative backup scheme in place since most hard drives fail suddenly at about the three year point, so you are overdue unless you already replaced yours.

Activity Monitor should not crash, so keep an eye on what's going on there.

There are several other 3rd party software items that I don't recognize nor have time to research, but judging by what I found above, you should make sure you still need them, that they are compatible with Mavericks and are up-to-date.

If you do decide to upgrade your RAM, the 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. OWC has also tested RAM above what Apple states is the maximum. I now have 6GB installed on a machine supposedly limited to 4 GB and noticed an improvement.
