Why are there no iPhone 6 battery cases with a lightning input port for charging instead of a micro USB?

Why are there no iPhone 6 battery cases with a lightning input port for charging instead of a micro USB?

Does it have something to do with the MFI certification? Is micro USB just cheaper?

I don't want to have to carry around another cable and it seems like this would be a good product. What am I missing?

iPhone 6, iOS 8.2, null

Not too sure why people don't get his question in the first place... it's very straight forward...

Anyhow, this could be your solution http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0197NDBG0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_deta ilpage_o06_s00

It's amazing when it works... yes I have bought it and used it. It's an amazing product built by Chinese manufacture (well most stuff is built in China with a brand of somewhere else anyway). BUT like I said, it's amazing only when it works, here is a bit of detail of my experience.

I bought it off Amazon, when I first received it, the seal label on the box was cut, and the case has very obvious signs of usage (dust etc). But I really liked the slim profile design PLUS you get to use your normal lightening cable to charge, sync, or do all the data transfer (play music) etc. I decided to give it another shot, returned and bought another one (God bless Amazon free return).

Second time, I got a brand new one, perfect. Put it on, the case fits perfectly, The case isn't make the phone longer, hence you don't really need an "extension cable" just to use your ear buds (you still want to use a fairly thing 3mm connector, you don't wanna use L shape ones with it, because it will stretch the material around the head phone jack). It was perfect for about 3 weeks, then things started going down hill.

First the phone would not recognize the cable when I plugged in thru the case. I rebooted the phone and somehow fixed the issue, but it happened every few days. Then the case stopped charging my phone when I press down the charging button, instead all 4 LED battery indicator stayed lid... til it drained the battery off fully. I was able to somehow mysteriously fix the issue like twice, by removing the case off the phone THEN plugged in a charging cable connected to the power. Last time it happened, nothing I did could fix the issue... good thing that it was still under Amazon warranty, so I returned it.

Like I said numerous times, it's amazing when it works... so if you don't mind constantly sending back the case and getting a new one... then this may be IT for you.

Think it through. If the battery manufacturer wants to incorporate a lightning interface into the product, there's going to be major legal and financial negotiation with Apple to allow it. So most don't bother, and keep their design entirely free from Apple problems. Plus, of course, the battery pack becomes universal for any 5 volt device.
