there is a billing problem with a family member's previous purchase

I recently updated my credit card expiration date and CID. This credit card is the authorized shared payment medium for my "family" group.

I am the family organizer and two other individuals are "adults".

Now, when attempting to update applications via the app store on my own devices, I get the following error message:

There is a billing problem with a family member's previous purchase. Ask the family organizer to update their billing information.

I have a valid card entered and the rest of my billing information was accepted via the apple store.

Thoughts?

This message means payment for a purchase made by one of the other members of your Family Sharing group failed, and is now in unpaid status.

The organizer must first update their billing information, and then the family member with an unpaid balance needs to try to access iTunes/update/download something. The family member should be prompted to review the billing information, at which time they should be able to simply provide the credit card security code (CVV / CVV2) and press the "Done" button.

This should resolve the issue.
