Hi PrabuBLR,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

It seems like your iPad Air has not been working since updating to iOS 8.3. I know it can be frustrating to have unexpected issues after an update.

Since you were not able to restore your iPad, the next step to try is putting the device in recovery mode and starting the restore again:

To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off your device and leave it off.
  2. Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
  3. Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
  4. When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.

You can find these steps and more information about recovery mode in this article:

Hi, this happened to me last night. I was prompted to update ipad air 2 by iTunes ios 8 and when it finished updating I had either the apple logo or the screen showing the connect to iTunes. I tried holding both buttons, tried to restore on iTunes but to no avail. I tried today and on the left hand side of the iTunes page on the pc it shows ipod and ipad. Even though the large box says restore ipad and the serial number so that you assume it knows what it's doing after a few failed attempts I clicked on that ipod/ipad icon. I saw that by the ipod logo there was a whirling circle but nothing by the ipad so I clicked on the ipad and the whirling circle moved to that. From then on at the top of the screen the blue line was gradually progressing and saying all the right things about restoring the ipad and it was soon completed. Having to set it all up again is bit of a pain but I'm hugely relieved that I can use it again. I'm very loathe to update ever again.
