iTunes 12.1.2 will not open

After upgrading to iTunes 12.1.2, iTunes will not launch. Here is what I have found in the console.

Ben.d's Terminal suggestion "sudo rm -r /Applications/iTunes.app" works great!


I am not use to working in Terminal. Make sure there are no quotes. If you do it right Terminal will give you a warning and ask you for your Admin. Password. Your current version of iTunes will be deleted. Re-install iTunes as instructed. And as others have pointed out, remove the old icon from the system doc and start from the Applications finder window. Place new icon in doc.
