Music apps crashing after the ios 8.3 update
I have many music apps on my phone like soundcloud and spinrilla. After the update I can't play any songs because the app crashes right after. How do I fix this?

I have the same issue with soundcloud and the app DR Radio
I have tried restart the phone and re-install the apps - it helped it the case of soundcloud but not the other app.
iPhone 6+, iOS 83
This helped. I just deleted the playlist that kept causing it to crash and it has not crashed since. Thanks.
I have been dealing with the same issue. Went to the Apple store, no one there could figure it out so they gave me a brand new iPhone 6.... it came with the old software, so I was dreading downloading the 8.3 update, but finally did update it today. Now I'm having the same issue as before. Did every type of troubleshooting that they make you do at the Apple Store, still no luck. I hope Apple fixes this issue soon. I use my iPhone to play all my music!! At this point the music app is completely useless.
Why should we have to delete a playlist to play our music? That makes no sense.... Please fix this issue!!
I think I got the app to work!
I use an iPhone 5c with iOS 8.3, and I manage my library with iTunes on a Mac with Yosemite. I'd been relying on two smart playlists with no trouble for several years. Right after I reduced the number of tracks on those playlists in iTunes, my Music app would crash every time I played them or downloaded a song. Sometimes the app would crash if I just opened the playlists. Other playlists, smart or manual, were OK. I tried turning off iTunes Match and syncing my playlists the old-fashioned way, but that didn't solve the problem. Neither did a full restore of my iPhone. Neither did deleting and re-creating the offending playlists, or turning iTunes Match on and off.
Here's what solved the problem for me: I noticed that I was having this issue with smart playlists where the "Limit" box was checked in iTunes. My phone doesn't have enough space to hold all or most of my music, so I really didn't want to uncheck the box. So here's what solved the problem: I switched from limiting the playlists by number of items to limiting them by size, in GB. The two affected playlists are now constrained to 2 GB instead of 100 tracks. And they now work perfectly. I can download, skip, and seek with no trouble.
Thanks for posting the workaround, it did the trick for me. I can now use the music app without it crashing every 2 songs.
Same issue- It crashes all the time unless its in landscape mode. Then crashes when you flip it back. Please resolve!
I fixed my problem as Aladdin Hourani recommended:
settings-> Muisc
uncheck "Show All Music"
but also had to uncheck "iTunes Match"
So in addition to what moethebartender mentioned, I had additional issues others might have run into:
-I was not signed in to iTunes Match on the Mac that created the playlist
-I had not agreed to updating financial information in iTunes
-I had a playlist (like above) that was limited to item count rather than document/folder size
It appears that this happens with any smart folder in iCloud as well created in OS X Leopard or older (which had the same folder attributes). It appears that later versions of OS X and iCloud don't have this item count attribute and thus the database returns a null value that causes apps to fail or crash (dropbox, iTunes, Music.app, Podcasts.app).
Once I changed this in ALL Smart Folders and Playlists I had in older versions of OS X and the new iTunes and restarted iTunes Match, the playlists updated and the issues (both Dropbox and Music) were resolved.
Here's to hoping that Apple provides a patch for this server-side so they don't have to make an update for EVERY IOS device on the planet.
Thanks, moethebartender- you pointed me in the right direction to solve multiple issues.
You got it ! Thanks ! i unsync all my playlist and synced back and realised one for the smart playlist was the issue, deleted the playlist in iTunes and re do it and sync back ... it worked !!
I'm having the exact same problem!! How did you fixed it?
I turned off "Show all Music" in the Music Settings. That worked for me.
just launch your music app and just click on songs .... your music app will not crash, yet but if you go back to playlist it will crash again ... so what i recommend is remove all the smart playlist and just re synch it back ... give it a try ... good luck ! 🙂
Some have posted their band-aid, and I just wanted to confirm that I too had to do it the same way.
Open music and QUICKLY hit "songs." I had to attempt it several times. The app no longer crashes.
I have two iphones and an ipad mini, and neither of the others have the problem. Only this one, with the new update.
APPLE IT'S BEEN A MONTH, ANSWER US!
We want a quick fix for this cluster. I want my normal playlists back.
This is what worked for me. Just turn off "Show all music" in the Settings/Music options.
I am NOT going to redo my playlists since all of them are Smart... Apple needs to fix the issue.
Turning off "Show All Music" in music settings worked for about a week.. continues to crash
