ios 8.3 update, now phone can't connect to car stereo

Brand new problem this morning after ios 8.3 update.

iPhone 5c, connects via proprietary cable to my 2010 Hyundai Sonata. Never had issues, even with the 30-pin:Lightning adapter. Now every time I switch stereo to the 'aux' input (i.e., my iPhone) while phone is plugged in I get "loading error." Tried with Downcast app, Music app, restarting phone after ios update, nothing works thus far

Guess it wasn't worth saving the time on typing in passwords for free apps....

I am facing the same issue with my 5s and 2013 Hyundai Verna (its by name verna in India and Accent) in some countries.

It worked nice upto iOS 8.2 with Lightning adapter.

Will try quitting the music app today. I use only the music app.

I wish it will be solved in next iOS update. I use my phone to play music and for navigation all the time. Unfortunately, apple car play does not support google maps and apple map is not a choice at my place.

I have the exact same problem with my Kia Picanto featuring the AM110TAE car stereo.

I connect to the car stereo using the Kia Picant original cable (30 pin to 3.5 jack and USB) plus a 30 pin to lightning adapter (original apple adapter)

After upgrading to ios 8.3, my car stereo would 9 times out of 10 report loading error. (not an overstatement. My personal best was over 30 times in a row reporting loading error)

It will however occasionally work? best way i have found is to simply close all programs on the iphone, disconnect it and reconnect it.... repeatedly...

I am listening to audio books on my way to work, so I prefere not to close the media player as i hate loosing my place in the book.

I am currently downgrading to 8.2 again to see if it behaves better. Just to verify that it is not a hardware issue.

Exactly the same problem for me.

Car: 2010 Kia Sorento, base model stock stereo, iPhone 5s.

14 out of 15 times after connecting, I get "Loading Error". As we have all noticed, this problem started immediately after the iOS8.3 upgrade.

How does one make it known to Apple that this is an issue? Colleague streLer mentions sending a bug report but I can't seem to find a way to do that.

The alternative to a fix is to downgrade to 8.2, something I'd prefer not to do.

Thanks,

CC

I Can confirm that the issue can be resolved by downgrading to 8.2 of ios.

i Spent the time yesterday to downgrade and tested my phones connection to my car afterwards several times. I could provoke one single loading error with youtube, a radio play app and ios standard music app all ready in the background. This was however easily resolved by closing youtube.

it was nowhere near the problem i had when on ios 8.3, with up to 30 errors in a row with all apps closed in the background.

in short: can confirm that ios 8.3 messed up connecting to car stereo. Downgrading to 8.2 resolved the issue. if you use your phone in the car, consider downgrading while its still an option and apple still signs of on 8.2 in itunes.

I have the same problem, however I own a basic car stereo system that doesn´t prompt the Iphone for audio tracks upon connection. I usually just connect my Aux cable from Iphone to the stereo and it would work operating the Iphone, not working since the update however .... None of the recommendations below worked for me. Bluetooth and standard headphones work fine. It doesnt matter if I use Spotify or my podcast app, neither works. It is not a problem with the car stereo, it is the IOS 8.3 update. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

I'm having the same issue.

Hyundai i20 (i'm in South Africa). Connecting via lightning adapter on top of Hyundai's cable.

Have been using it, without any issues on a daily basis for 2 years. Installed iOS 8.3, and now only see "Initialization error" in car. Have tried rebooting / killing apps / using different apps without success.

Looks like I'm going to have to downgrade to 8.2

Just adding myself to the list of people with this issue without a solution. I have a Hyundai Elantra and I connect via OEM cable plus the Lightning converter to my iPhone 5s.

I primarily use the Audible app in my car. I've normally gotten a connection error about 25-50% of the time when plugging in the phone the first time. But manually closing the Audible app and/or the Apple Music app on the phone and reconnecting the cable usually fixes the issue. In the last few days, since upgrading to iOS 8.3, I've gotten the connection error about 80-90% of the time. And then yesterday, I tried reconnecting the cable at least 30 times and got the error 100% of the time. I can connect via Bluetooth, but the volume is so low that it's unusable (even when maxed out).

This is very frustrating.

Hello. This is my first post and I'm not very good at tech language, but after experiencing this same problem since upgrading to 8.3 I've found a workaround which has worked consistently today, so I wanted to tell people in case it helps anyone. I have a hyunadi i20 (UK). iPhone 5s using hyundai's cable plus Apple lightning adaptor.

Before starting engine remove cable altogether. Once car started plug cable into car only. System will respond recognising aux input. Wait couple of seconds then connect iPhone. Music will start (apple music app.)

as I said this has worked today every time I got in the car (x7 or so). It might not last but you never know! hope it works for someone else.
