ios 8.3 update, now phone can't connect to car stereo

Brand new problem this morning after ios 8.3 update.

iPhone 5c, connects via proprietary cable to my 2010 Hyundai Sonata. Never had issues, even with the 30-pin:Lightning adapter. Now every time I switch stereo to the 'aux' input (i.e., my iPhone) while phone is plugged in I get "loading error." Tried with Downcast app, Music app, restarting phone after ios update, nothing works thus far

Guess it wasn't worth saving the time on typing in passwords for free apps....

I'm experiencing the same issue.

iPhone 6 plus iOS 8.3

Hyundai Santa Fe 2010

I first noticed the problem when I wanted to activate the bluetooth to pair it with my vehicle.

I started the car.

I plugged the iPhone (using the hyundai cable + the lightning adapter cable).

It started playing the fisrt song on my iPhone.

Before exiting the driveway, I wanted to activate the bluetooth so I did it through the quick access feature.

The music continued to play for a few seconds before dropping completely at the moment where the bluetooth pairing was complete.

Unplugged the iPhone and plugged it back many times with no success. (loading error)

I'll try to do more tests tonight. Cause I noticed sometimes even the iPhone connects the sound comes out from it instead of the car's speakers!

Rebooting the device works but the moment you have something else making a noise (notifications, alarms, ect) you fall back where you were before.

Thought I would "move" my related post here to consolidate things. It's not Hyundai-related, but relevant to the iPod lack of connectivity on my stereo.

Pioneer model AVH-X2600.

There are two ways to connect to my car stereo to play music: iPod mode or Bluetooth. Prior to 8.3 the BT connection would automatically pause my music after about 10 seconds. After I push Play on the stereo it would continue on without issue. Following the 8.3 update, after about 10 seconds on the BT connection there is this awful scratching/skipping noise, not unlike a skipping cd. But after 5-10 seconds of that, everything is back to normal.

Prior to 8.3 the iPod mode would take a good 20 secs to connect, but then everything would play normally. Now, with 8.3, it won't connect at all.

I don't have any problems with BT connections to other speakers, so maybe this is a Pioneer problem?? Anyone else having this same problem?

iOS 8.4 Beta 2 came out today. I can now pick certain tracks in a playlist and it will play that track instead of jumping to the first song. Step in the right direction...

Random is still super broken. Hit skip track and it increments by 1 like it should but plays another random track than what is displayed. It plays 5 seconds skipping repeatably until the display updates to the correct song.

Crap. Its weird.

This worked for me yesterday only with one failure. And today it did not work at all. Connection Error every time. I did not install any new app or anything. Yesterday, before those trials, I think the phone was not restarted for a few days. Yesterday, I restarted after those trials. Today, restarted several times, worked once after each restart as usual but the CD to AUX trick did not work at all. Sorry, if someone tried the same thing after reading my message and it did not work for you.

Quitting all running Apps worked for me, at first, but then it just failed every time again.

This fix is going to sound daft but it's worked for me so far. I think my phone is trying to play the first song in my songs playlist as soon as I connect, all my music is in iTunes Match so no tracks were local to the phone. I think my network may have been slow, causing too long a delay to play the first song? Anyway, I went to my songs list and downloaded the first song it would always try and play when connecting the phone, so no streaming required. Now if i quit all Apps before connecting it seems to work, well it plays that track then I switch to Spotify or Podcasts and go from there.

Bit of a pain and I now only use my phone on longer journeys, but at least I can listen to Podcasts on my way to work.

I am very excited to hear that 8.4 Beta has resolved the issues that forced me to downgrade to 8.2 from 8.3. The process of downgrading brought with it a whole host of issues, the most recent of which is that my "Recents" call list is suddenly empty and shows (are you sitting down?) "-1" recent calls. Yep, you read that right -1. Now as we all know, coincidence does not imply causality, but after the downgrading process, it took me several hours of dinking around to get iTunes to sync music to my phone, so that the calls list got weirded out does not surprise me. I was so desperate that I got out an old iPod Touch and put all my long-drive podcasts on it so I would have something to listen to between Houston and Dallas on Sunday night. Eventually I tried intentionally corrupting the iTunes folder in the raw file system (using iFunBox for OS X) and upon restarting iTunes, it told me to restore from backup (again) and I did and that fixed it. In all my years of using Apple products, I've never seen so many issues, one right after another. Fortunately my new MacBook Pro with Yosemite is humming along quite nicely.

Oh yes, the iOS 8.2 Emojis are also all messed up now too. Over this, however, I will lose no sleep.

Same issue for me. After iOS 8.3 connection to my Kia Soul via cable has Loading Error in system. Sometimes it never will work, sometimes, reconnecting the cable physically and disconnecting will make it work. Doesnt work with either the Music app or Spotify queued and playing. Not reliable at a minimum. Had to just play CDs today because I cant sit in the car pluging and unplugging for minutes on end. I have an iPhone 6.

Worked fine before for years up until this update.

This a dangerous problem Apple - audio stops working during a drive forcing someone to finagle with a cable while driving. Incredibly frustrating and dangerous.

quick question, somewhat off topic (and thanks, of course, for all the updates on what to expect from 8.4)

do you use the sutbby adapter, or the one that is an extension cable? I have the stubby one without any additional cable, gives me some trouble on not staying connected securely, wondering if it's worth buying the other adapter

thanks

It does stay plugged in. Every few months it will start sporadically disconnecting - that's my cue to get in there with a toothpick and clean out the accumulated compacted lint in the lightning port. I usually get a fair amount out by scraping as far in as I can get with the toothpick.

You can follow it up with a blast of compressed air if you wish.

THIS WORKED FOR ME (Twice in a row!)

I recently updated to 8.3 and lost my ability to auto (wirelessly) connect from our 2014 Hyundai Sante Fe Sport. I couldn't control the music from the steering wheel at all and it wouldn't show the artist in the display. (Note: the phone worked and the Google Maps app still talked to me through the car, but I had to connect with a USB Lightning cord.)

I just deleted the Sport from my bluetooth setting and re-paired the phone. Then I shut down my phone with a hard two-button close. I rebooted the phone, started the music app, then clicked to Media on the vehicle display. It immediately played and showed the artist.

I turned off the car and tried again. I again had to start the music playing on my phone, then click Media, but it worked and the steering wheel controls work.

I hope this helps others. I was hugely frustrated and I'm sure you are too. Fingers crossed it keeps working.
