Gee I don't know. Perhaps if you find the app to be too simple for your requirements then the solution is to move onto a more richly featured application, rather than add complexity to one designed for users whose requirements are, well, more simple than yours. Surely in your decades of designing software you've realised that no one app can be all things to all people.

I pasted your script into automator and made a little automator app for a quick randomizer.
