Can't sync with the new Photos app?

Apparently you can't sync with the new Photos library from the Mac to iPad? You can copy photos from folders but it doesn't allow you to choose the new library. Am i missing something because this really doesn't work for me. I do not want to share all my photos with all my devices from iCloud. Its way too much data. I have only put a select set of photos on my iPad so now when I make changes to albums on my Mac they don't get synched to the iPad.

I am using Yosemite with Photos 1.0 (209.52.0) and iTunes 12.1.27. And I just upgraded the iPad to the latest iOS 8.3

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Just a little more clarity. Make sure photos is currently closed and quit out of, then open it whole holding the option key on your keyboard. When it does this it will allow you to choose the library you want to open, just like in iTunes. Then after you re select the library you can launch iTunes and plug in your iphone and the Photos Option should now be listed along with Choose folder and Pictures.

Normally, the option should already be listed in the Photo sync options in iTunes. However if it is not you can take these steps to get it working again.

First verify all update have completed and you are on the latest SW update on your Mac

Second, Quit iTunes and Photos. Then re open Photos while holding the option key and choose the library that is already there.

Third, Restart your computer.

Fourth, open iTunes and plug in your phone and the option to sync from photos should be listed there.

Uh, you should quit Photos before restarting your computer.
