New 2015 MacBook Pro - Kernel Panic since 10.10.3 update

I'm having the exact same problem as all the other guys mentioned before me with my brand new MacBook Pro 13 inch Retina – using the MacBook Pro connected to a Dell U2414H via HDMI. Isn't there any solution still? I'm running on OS X El Capitan GM release and still not solved. Very diappointed...

I have a brand-new MacBook Air (2015) that's connected to a Dell U2414H using a mini Displayport (there's only one miniDP). It's running on El Capitan as well. This issue is...really annoying! Today I thought that the issue is gone when I was able to wake up the computer three, four, five, or more times with no kernel panic issue. I am posting this because...I saw the same kernel panic issue again.

No computer is perfect. But now I miss my Surface Pro 3.

I downgraded to Yosemite, and the problem seems to have gone. El Cap is still full of bugs.

I have a mac mini connected to two Dell U2414H and the same issue happens almost every other time I try to wake up the computer.

Same here, 10.11.3, and U2414H that never did a problem with my old MB 5.1. Is really annoying. And AppleCare didn't me any solution...

Is the only way by now to downgrade to Yosemite?

I've had this issue for weeks and it was extremely annoying. Since the latest El Capitan upgrade a few days ago it seems like the issue has been resolved (at least I haven't had crashes for 3 days. Try updating your OS!

I have had this issue with my 2012 Mac Book Pro (MBP) recurring over the last 60+ days. Always happens when the computer sits idle for more than ~20 minutes, usually longer. It happen three times yesterday. The screen goes dark during the idle period. When attempting reactivation by pressing the space bar, nothing happens. Pressing the start button yields the notification that the machine stopped and reset begins. Reset yields a system start up and the kernel crash report. These crashes have occurred over multiple versions of El Captian. Hours with senior level tech support attempting to isolate the problem have yet to identify the problem. The site shows that the problem occurs across a wide range of Mac Book Pro hardware, indicating that this is most likely not a hardware based issue. It does not happen on my iMac. Upgraded the MBP to version 10.11.5 last evening. Will now watch to see if it happens again with new software. I am concerned that there is some potential for a malicious intrusion casing this crash, but no actual evidence has been collected. Will continue to watch and collect more information. Lets keep trading observations.

I don't have any evidence for it but I don't think its a malicious intrusion.

I have the suspicion that it might be caused by pop-up notifications. I was once sitting at my desk and my was in sleep mode, the external display was black and on standby. Then a pop-up came up (an e-mail, rest of the screen is black, you would just see the little notification on the top right) and the macbook immediately crashed. I also had the feeling that if I have the Macbook lid open it never crashes while going to sleep.

I have experienced multiple crashes with the screen both open and closed. Still searching for the root cause of the Kernal crashes.

Same issues for me. Using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) on El Capitan 10.11.5, but the kernel panic (displaypolicyd) has been happening for several versions/updates of the OS. I have 2 monitors connected, one DVI and one HDMI. It's also sporadic for me. It will not happen for a while, then rear it's head again.

My only hope is to do a clean install when macOS comes out in the fall and start fresh. Who knows....

I have the same issues. Using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) with MacOS Sierra.

Every time I open the lid with external monitors (Dell U2414H) connected with miniDP to DP cables. I get the kernel panic error. This happens every time I try to get the Macbook out of sleep mode.

I tried a full fresh reinstall, but it didn't help at all.

I have the exact same problem. I have a Dell P2715Q connected via miniDP to DP and every time it goes to sleep and I wake it up after a while, there will be the same kernel panic. I have a 2015 Macbook Pro 13" on Sierra (10.12.2 beta 5); tried updating to the beta but it didn't help, but also had the problem on 10.12.1.
