I use several blue tooth devices and I have found that if I "forget" any device I am not currently using and pair with the one I want to use I do not have any trouble. If it is just the one ear bud you use, make sure it is charged and actually turned on and that it is not muted. Make sure the device is listed on your iPhone Bluetooth settings. You can try deleting the device in setting and then pairing it again. Hold the device directly against your phone and press down on the 'on' button of your blue tooth for at least a count of 10. If none of this works go to the Apple Store or your cell provider and ask for help. I have found both places to be extremely helpful and have fixed my problems ASAP. Good luck (it is probably your bluetooth device that is at fault)

I Have the same problem, I have an iPhone 6, an iPad 3rd gen and an iPad mini, everything is running iOS 8.3 except the iPad 3gen, which is still on iOS 8.2, that is the only one that will find my Bluetooth headset. I have checked my phone and iPad mini they will both pair with other bluetooth devices but not my headset, it never shows up....even in pairing mode.

Thanks. Trying to connect to a #Miccus Mini-jack AX4 Bluetooth® Wireless Music Receiver featuring APT-X low latency & cVc clear voice , owhich for reference can be found here.. http://www.miccus.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MMJAX-04

Also, have another device which streams Bluetooth via A2DP that comes up as well 'Headset'.

Both worked exceptionally well prior to the 8.2/8.3 updates. Have reset both network & all settings to no avail. Thanks

The first step with any BlueTooth problem is to "Forget" the device in Settings/Bluetooth and reset the device itself to clear its pairing menu (you will need the device manual for this). Then put the device in Pairing mode and again go to Settings/Bluetooth on the phone to re-pair each device. In this case I suggest forgetting all devices, then go to Settings/General/Reset - Reset network settings before attempting to re-pair. The only downside to doing this is it will clear all WiFi passwords also.

Restore iOS using iTunes, and set it up as a new phone rather than restoring our backup. Test it. If it works, then restore the backup and test again. If the problem comes back there was corrupt data in the backup (originally from the phone). If the problem exists before restoring the backup take the phone to an Apple store with a couple of your BlueTooth devices; they may replace the phone if they can replicate the problem.

This is incorrect. The issue is that Apple continually forces users to perform updates to the iOS on their iDevices - which locks them out of a way to return to a previous known, "Good Working iOS." iOS 8.1.3 and above have been nothing but complete nightmares for the end user and simply a marketing metric for Apple to say x million users have upgraded.

I have a car with built in bluetooth and several other blue tooth devices that my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.3 cannot pair with. I have older devices running iOS 5 and 7 that can pair perfectly with all of my bluetooth devices and my car - the downside is that these devices are no longer on a cellular network and I use them for testing purposes.
It is apparent based on all of the issues mentioned in this forum that everyone is having similar issues and gets the problem is software related and not user related.

I have erased all data and information from my iPhone 6 and refreshed my device as far as I can - I have deleted all network connection and shut down every service accept the Bluetooth and it is still not working. This is an Apple iOS Software Issue that started back with the release iOS 8 and was fixed in iOS 8.1.3. Not a user issue.
And 700 million users may not have the problem because not all 700 million users use bluetooth the same way as say X million users do. This troubleshooting and diagnostic is a throwback to the days of Mac OS 1 thru 9. I don't think people want to figure out if the Extensions they have running are creating a conflict or if they correctly terminated their scsi chain. So before you throw out 700 million users like a fact that "there must not be a problem, because you seem to be the only one" take a step back and check your arrogance at the door before you reply - I don't care what level you have on these boards. I have been using and supporting mac and apple devices since the beginning and the fact that with all of my experience and knowledge I have to come to a support board to see if there has been a solution and find your garbage replies is insulting .
