What happened to iTunes on my Mac?

iTunes doesn't launch anymore.

iTunes does not even bounce on the dock. Obviously, it does not open even by clicking on it on the Application folder.

Even after restarting the mac, repairing permissions, disk or whatever via Disk Utility and via Command-R.

What shall I do?

MacBook Pro Retina i7 | 2,8 GHz | 16GB | OS 10.10.3

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Fred Davenport: Did you also try the method outlined by Linc Davis earlier? Both essentially do the same thing in deleting the iTunes application, one just uses command line to override the file permission and the other has you change the permission in Finder.
