actually, this may be specifically a problem while using adobe illustrator to open files.

actually, i'm not sure anymore. this is happening with other apps too, which could turn out to be recent yosemite update... :-(
I also have this issue with 10.10.3 finder window within Column view. In Illustrator and only Illustrator, when I go to Open or Place a file my finder window looks like this:
Look to the far right, I can’t view the files within the folder. And the grey scroll bar abruptly ends. I can't go any farther to view items in folder. I can resize columns but I have to do every time. To add to the weirdness, it is just the Open command this happens. If I do a Save As, it looks like this:
And I can view the files.
I have trashed Finder window prefs and Illustrator prefs and no luck.
Any thoughts???
I have exactly the same problem since updating to 10.10.3 yesterday - I can only see the place image if I pull the screen as far as I can, and then you only see a small part of the image - did you find an answer? It says this was SOLVED but I can't see where.
I hear you, this wasn't solved it was just explained. I started a new thread here:
Yosemite 10.10.3 Update Column View Issue
But still no comments or resolution. I thought it was linked to Java at one point but no luck.
Finally solved my issues by uninstalling CS6 Suite and reinstalling.
I spoke too soon, issue is back. Driving me nuts. Also affecting Illustrator CC now.
I'm having the same issue. I cannot fix it. I've tried everything you've tried and still nothing. I think this is an Illustrator issue as Photoshop works fine for me and all other applications.
Hey,
Do you know if this issue was ever solved? It's driving me crazy!
Thanks.
Been checking up on this too... no fix for 10.10.4 update either. This is still an issue and does cause a lot of frustration - it's obviously not a priority for anyone. @AdobeCare -<< not really.
I'm running Illustrator CC 18.0.0.1 and OS 10.10.0 and I'm not having this issue.
did it start with 10.10.3?
Started with 10.10.3 - On Illustrator, Acrobat, Premier Pro -
.
currently on mac os x 10.11 (el capitan beta): problem has gone away. probably will be fixed in fall public release.
(was really annoying when it lasted :-P)
I've tested other adobe CC apps and confirming that this is a Illustrator CC 2015.1.0 Issue.
The only solution I have, which is only a temporary fix is to relaunch finder when the problem occurs.
Cheers
