after 10.2 update- imported clips displaying black

I downloaded all updates for FCP, compressor, and system updates. Currently running a brand new Mac Pro, 32GB RAM, dual GPUs, the whole 9 yards. I am running my FCP library from a Caldigit 3 drive raid array, in raid 0. After updating to 10.2, all of my camera clips show only black, no video, but i have audio.

There are no warnings at all in any of my projects or events, the clips are just black, with working audio. I was successful in updating the libraries when i updated FCP to 10.2. The clips I have are recorded from a Panasonic AG-AC160, recorded AVCHD, 1080p24. Any ideas?!

I can skim through audio, and the thumbnails appear for each clip in the events browser, but when i play them, All i get is audio, with a black screen in the viewer. They were working fine yesterday, and the only thing I changed was the 10.2 update. I'm stumped!

Just wondering whether the Pro Video Formats 2.0.1 update has made a difference to anyone using problematic AVCHD footage?

Update came 4 times to me...but did no change the AVCHD handling problem.

Yeah, I'm not even certain that it has installed correctly on my systems - it keeps popping back up in the App Store Updates.

I'm not enjoying this problem either, of course...

I use an external SDI device to capture footage when using the AF100,

so at least I can keep working on some projects....

If you haven't heard, while they work on it, for on new captures change to 60 fpm and the AVCHD imports work fine...

I was having similar issues on two MBPs with the latest FCPX+updates. In a project with ~45 items, three of the JPEGs displayed and rendered as black - even after deleting them, copying to new files and re-importing, etc.

By chance I tried adjusting the opacity - if set to 99.9% they show up perfect, but bump it to 100% and they go black.

I'm a relative n00b so I've no idea if this is a common type of issue.

fogmachine, I think your issue may be different to what the majority on this thread are experiencing.

Your work-around makes absolutely no difference on my system.

I am using quicktime files from JVC HM150 and also had problems with black clips after the update. I then updated iMovie and suddenly I could see my clips again!?
