No Mail Sounds After 10.10.3 Update

Exact same problem here. Removed SoundFlower, Perian, etc., just in case, but no result.

With MacBook Pro mid 2010, Yosemite 10.10.3, Mail 8.2.

Tried other email clients (GyazMail, PostBox) and the sounds from incoming messages and other actions are all OK with them.

Strange that nobody else is mentioning this issue.

Same to me! I no longer hear sound when messages are sent or received. This is very frustrating and annoying and I switched to the new outlook today until this problem won't be fixed. Anyone was able to resolve it?

Here Mail is playing sound.

Try this:

For sound I use Ping or Submarine, why . . . , the other sounds are barely audible or to soft.

Set the sound in the middle.

Uncheck Output sound.

Tried that suggestion, Raicya, but it did not help. Thanks for trying.

This issue only began after updating to 10.10.3. I've tried resetting the PRAM and SMC. I've deleted several mail and sound preferences. Repaired permissions and ran Disk Utility. Even reinstalled OS X. Nothing helps. And this only affects Mail. Everything else works fine and Sound Effects appear in all other applications as well as the Finder.

In addition, I have experienced this problem in Mail as well: Upon updating my Mac to 10.10.3, the process of moving message from my inbox to a folder is now delayed by about 1-2 seconds.

To me now it works but I have noticed that it does not work anymore when connecting my macbook air to the external monitor I use at work.

Have you try to start up de Mac in the safe mode?

FYI: I did have a problem with Safari (& Mail) after updating to 10.10.3 too, both hangs.

At that time I knew nothing is wrong with the internet connection.

It is a different problem as your problem.

I do believed that both Steps Linc Davis let me to try and and especially to start up the Mac in the safe mode has solved 50% of my problem.

I can confirm that if you turn on Do Not Disturb in Notification, Mail makes no sound when sending. I turned back on and Mail makes a sound. Note I did not have a problem with sounds before testing. For users with the problem, if turning on/off doesn't fix you might want to delete the preference file in your User's Library/Preferences folder. Log out/in after deleting THEN reset Notifications.

The User's Library folder is hidden by default. To unhide: Select the Finder in the Dock. Under Go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you’ll see the Library.

Now the only issue left in Mail for me is the slowness when moving a message from the Inbox to other mailboxes. It pauses for a second before moving it. That just appeared after the 10.10.3 update as well.

I to have no whoosh sound after 10.10.3 update! Have tried everything including with dianeoforegon!! Now just looked at my do Not Disturb Notifications and they were all on OFF. So, I checked them all. Quit mail. Unchecked them all so Nothing is checked in Do Not Disturb. reopened mail. Still No WHOOSH !!!
